Default Margarito wins by circumstance... (short play by play)

Everyone who knows me remembers all of my rants about Margarito.

Tonight, he lost the first four rounds easily to Joshua Clottey before Clottey broke a finger on his left hand.

After that, Margarito attacked mercilessly in the fifth, but Clottey weathered the storm. During the round, Margarito claims he hurt his right wrist.

For the rest of the fight, Clottey tried to fight off his right hand, while Margarito simply outpunched him. It is important to note that Clottey's few shots were much better timed than Margarito's barrage through round 12.

In the end, it was a unanimous decision for Margarito.

Margarito either needs to get better sparring partners, or get back the fire that knocked off 5 of "6 Heads" Lewis!

    Nuff said

He was having trouble with Six Heads Lewis before he finally landed a shot. But he isn't going to beat Mayweather fighting like that. Rematch Clottey.

Yeah! re-match Clottey and waste more of the little time he has left fighting fighters like that...

He needs to either face up against the winner of Urkal-Cotto if it happens or fight another title holder and see if he can lure in a big name...

Re-match Clottey would be the stupidest thing he could do.

    Definitely no rematch

I doubt he will get a fight with Cotto, as he is the 'big' name in the division now...

Besides, fighting like that, he will never get by Paul Williams, who has an 80"+ reach.

I mean look at how the inactivity has effected his fighting BIG TIME it took him 5 rds. to warm up and start letting hid hands go freely then the injury (which is still yet to be confirmed for either fighter) comes into play.... The ankle he sprained....

Regardless hes the winner and he needs to look forward it is HIS own fault for the inactivity and waiting around the punk azzes like Zab, PBF and the rest .....

    you really believe that?

you think that clottey not throwing a single punch was due to margarito being warmed up and not clottey having a broken finger?

also a broken finger is serious buisness, and clottey knew something serious just happened

    a suspect sprained ankle...

now come on, i could fight with a sprained ankle

At this point, it doesn't matter who we want to see...

Paul Williams is next, and he is nothing but trouble.

Has anyone seen him fight? He averages 120+ per round.

    why is simple.

    1. Clottey is an even smaller name than he is.

    2. Clottey is NOT his mandatory.

    3. This was a tune up to get to the money fights, and he almost blew it.

    4. At 30+, how many more times do you think he is going to get this chance?
last fight (10 mos), ended 1st Rd,
before that (Apr '05) ended 5th Rd,
before that was a 10 Rd KO in Feb 2005!
That's 16 rounds in 2 years since his last loss! This 12Rds was good for him, but he needs better sparring...

because we now know that clottey is above average...

which means that margarito cant hang with him

Theres no need to fight someone who supossibly hurt his hand in a fight he lost, and the fight was not that close. It was a tough one and yeah! he was gettin hit and he lost rounds but in the end he won. No contreversy or anything, Clottey didn't even complain with the decision...

If Pacquiao and Morales can have a rematch after the first fight and if Barerra and Pacquiao can have a rematch I don't understand why Clottey and Margarito can't fight again under the same principles
