    Default Give me a break!!!

Antonio Margarito is the most overrated fighter in the world. I'm pissed off, I just watched the Clottey fight, and Tony looked outclassed. I'll admit, I've only seen a couple rounds of Tony before this fight. So maybe I'm missing something. This guy is a decent fighter, that's it. I've been hearing months of talk about this guy and he deserves not a lot of it. "Most feared welterweight" OMG. The guy was completely outclassed the first four rounds by Clottey. And when Clottey's finger was broken, Tony still couldn't put this guy away. Clottey was still winning a couple of rounds after he broke his finger. I will give Tony credit for having good power, being VERY active, and making a good fight. But I don't see how anyone thought this guy is an elite fighter. He's average at best. He has absolutely no defense whatsoever and a reasonably good defensive fighters can slip and block a lot of his punches. He has no accuracy and throws a ton of punches to create illusions that he is winning the fight, but if he were to get in there with an elite fighter, he'd be embarrassed. He's a good fighter, but it's only gonna be so long before someone exposes him. Hell, I don't even know what those judges were smoking, but I'm pretty sure Arum provided it.

Totally agree, except for the "good power" part. IMO, that's the most overrated thing about Margarito. He's a volume puncher, not a power puncher. Most of his shots have very little on them. He definitely doesn't hit as hard as Clottey.

yeah Tony was wide with his shots, He is a very slow plodding fighter for 147 lbs. Margarito is what ranchers would call “ All hat and no Cattle “ .

I didn’t know what happened to Clottey until after the fight. I thought something strange was going on..Clottey was beating Margarito with ease then all of sudden throws no punches in R 5 . ? found out later about the Clottey hand. Good matches all in all. !
