So one of my first posts on here was about how much weight I should gain for my height. I'm 133 and 5'10. Now, this was before I even started boxing. Everyone answered that I shouldnt try to gain weight, that I would be a lot taller than everyone in my weight class and it would be to my advantage. I didn't believe them....
So, I've been boxing for 4 days now lol. Got to spar for my first time today. Wasnt scared or anything, but I was a bit worried as the kid I sparred has been boxing for two years. Now, he weighs the same as me, but is maybe 3-4 inches shorter. He was definatly a better fighter technically, but I was easily able to bully him around with my size, had him backing up and against the ropes the whole time. Was able to land a lot more punches than he did. Needless to say, I now believe the advice that everyone gave me from the start. So dont worry all you skinny bean poles out there, dont bother gaining weight
