ok done a shitload of work on speeding this place up today and as of posting this it seems to be faster on first results... fingers crossed it lasts

but ive changed tons of stuff in the database and on the server so really need to monitor it for the next few day as its all trial and error sooooo if you guys find any bugs let me know.

Maybe it's this comp but it doesn't seem much faster. But when I was on the school library thing immediately after login was disabled I was on it was fast but it was a faster connection so I don't know.

If you are using dial-up you are prob at the mercy of your poor connection speed.

For me the pages are loading quicker. It was fast like this when I first starting logging on last June.

Maybe it's the old placebo effect, now i've been told it should be faster, that it seems that it is running faster... But my computer is usually pretty slow with this site and that HAD been noticable for a while... but lately i havn't really noticed... So could be because of the changes..

Anyways this is by far the best forum of it's type with the best people on it so even if it is slowed down, i'm sure everyone will still be here just as much....

But glad to know someone is doing their best to keep the site as visitable as possible..

Well I have dial up but it usually loads just as fast as my DSL did because of the caches/cookies but I'm pretty sure those clear periodically because I also had to re-login yesterday which I haven't had to do in months.
