Yall need to chill out. Floyd landed 80 more punches. I'll give Oscar respect for making it a rough fight. If you look past the shoeshining that Oscar did on the ropes, he got handled in that fight. Floyd stood tall against De La Hoya and landed some hard shots. It was a good fight. The one judge that had it 115-113 ODLH should be banned because there's no way it was that close. I can understand 7-5 Floyd or even 115-114 Floyd, but 115-113 De La Hoya? Wow. That's fucked up. Floyd landed the harder and more effective shots.

    the winner AND NEW!!!!

I can't say that I enjoyed either man's performance. It was a weak fight in my humble opinion and I personally feel duped after shelling out $55 to see two great fighters do so little. I gave Floyd the fight, but feel his style makes for a boring fight. And Oscar, pressed, but did nothing to convince me that he deserved the win. Both guys fought scared and took little risks.

This is one of those fights that I can't helped but feel was SETUP for a rematch. I personally will never pay to watch either guy fight again.

What you idiot Mayweather hating virgins need to realize is 1, this was Floyd's FIRST FIGHT AT 154. Most fighters move up in weight against a tune up, not the top fighter in that division; 2, Oscar got EVERYTHING he demanded, glove type, ring size, money, and had the entire crowd on his side (not to mention it was HIS promotion), Floyd let him have everything he wanted, and he still beat him. You losers hatred for Floyd makes me laugh

I had it even in the 10th. Oscars stamina again caused him the last two rounds.

DLH did a great job but he came up a little short.

Oh please, Sal. Those chickensh*t pitty patter flurries were ineffective and fooled noone. Floyd threw less and connected more. It's called effective punching.

    ds91,

I agree. And I also agree with the poster that says that Floyd's style makes a boring fight. But Floyd's style may allow him to retire undefeated, with that kind of judging.

From what I saw there is no way ODH won that fight. I'll give him credit, he fought a great fight and came in with a solid gameplan and he made it a lot closer than I thought it would be, but he lost.
Floyd took longer than usual to adapt to his opponents style and was far less impressive (or if not impressive, dominant) than he usually is, but in the end he clearly and convincingly, in my mind, won that fight.
Props to him, I wasn't sure he could at 154 and I thought Oscar might be able to hurt him or put him down, but he did it. Floyd landed more punches (57% connect rate with power punches) with a higher degree of accuracy. Oscar was the aggressor, but it often was not effective aggression.

Sorry for the rambling-ass post, I'm a bit drunk.

Indeed. I had it 117-113. The judge and Lampley were on Mars.

tbh i think flloyds style makes him look slicker and better than the fight gives him credit for. like people (and me in other posts) have said im drunk as fook but his smoothness in the ring made him look better than DLH...and again im completely biased towards DLH lol
