I was boxing for two years from the ages from 14 too 16. Twice a week. My coach was realy fixated with my speed and said i had natural ability. But then i had a brain injury. It was a post traumatic concussion. I can head soccer balls and stuff when i play.

Do you still think i could try to go pro with this?

    Seconded.

How is anyone on a forum supposed to be able to tell what state or condition you're in.
I don't care if the greatest doctor in the world visits this site.
You need to see a doctor. Nobody can answer that here.

To be more specific, you need to see a neurologist. It's probably not a bad idea to get more than one opinion also. Good luck.

yeah..and heading soccer balls can contribute to your pre existing brain damage....soccer is worse for youths than amateur boxing as far as concussions and injuries go.....
It feels good to be back home.

You really really need to consult a doctor on this, never rely on random strangers on a forum when it comes to extremely important health decisions. No one here (at least I don't think) has gone through 7 years of medical school, and no one here can see or examine you.

If boxing is what you really what you want to do and your heart is in it then see a doctor and speak to your coach. If you get the all-clear on the medical side its time to get back into shape my man!!! good luck

I am a doctor and I had a traumatic brain injury 5 years ago. I don't even like that term (brain injury). I have brain damage and my brain won't "get well". You don't want to live with brain damage and, thus, you don't want to box (see Muhammed Ali). You are much more susceptible to further and more extensive brain damage from boxing due to the fact that you have suffered a brain injury already. Indeed, I'd even advise you to be careful with the headers in soccer as they have been shown to cause diagnosed brain damage in long-term players. Further, as others have suggested, if you seek advice from your physician talk to several. Most M.D.s are ignorant of the causes, the severity, and the life-long consequences of brain damage.
