If Miguel beats the best of the rest of the welters id rate him 5-6 in p4p ratings. He will advance up the ladder over the next couple of years of performing at the top level.

If Cotto was to beat Margarito he goes into the top 5 imo.

People hang on Pacman's nutsacks for beating Barrera and Morales but both fighters are not what they were.

If Cotto beats Margarito he would have to be considered a top 5 p4p and if he added Mosely to that list he's pushing Winky and Pacquiao for the 2 and 3 spots.

Of course to be number he would have to beat Floyd, who even though he has 'retired' is still p4p number 1 in everbody's eyes.

So how do you beat a man who doesn't exsist in flesh. He only exsists in the rankings?

Has Floyd died or summat? I'm pretty sure he still exists in the flesh, he just ain't fighting. And personally as he's announced his retirement then he can be withdrawn from the rankings.

We all know his retirement will last about as long as Bernard Hopkins did so that's why he stays at Number 1

The winner would easily be top 10 P4P. They would have had to go through 2 of the best ww around and Tony/Cotto have good resumes already.

margarito would have been beaten inside the distance if clotty hadnt broken his hand, and if not beaten heavily on points, he is nothing compared to flloyd, imo williams should beat him, as you can prob tell im not at all a fan of margarito and think personally that judah williams or cotto would beat him, saying that williams hasnt been properly tested until now.

Floyd hasn't fought in 6 weeks.... let's wait a little while before we start acting like he isn't an active fighter. If he still hasn't signed a contract 6 or 7 months from now, then we can start re-evaluating whether he deserves to hold onto his status in the rankings.

He's said that he's retired, so as far as I am concerned the Floyd era is over until he says that he is not going to retire. Granted boxers have a history of making comebacks, but until he comes out of retirement he shouldn't be in the rankings.

But he wouldn't have fought again yet regardless. A fighter of his status isn't going to fight more than once every 5 or 6 months anyway. As of right now, his "retirement" hasn't affected anything, because he wouldn't have fought again yet anyway. If he still hasn't fought again by november/december, then at that time we can start rethinking his place in the rankings. I think that's a slightly more scientific way of doing it, than just saying "he said he's not fighting, he's done!"
Because we all know he'll fight again.....
