    Default Philippines vs Mexico

RING EDITOR SAYS WORLD CUP HAS QUALITY FIGHTS
    http://philboxing.com/news/story-11302.html

The “World Cup” of boxing between the Philippines and Mexico which is scheduled to take place at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California on August 11 has won commendation from respected Ring Magazine editor-in-chief Nigel Collins.

Collins told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that as far as he is concerned “the value of the so-called World Cup is based solely on the quality of the fights and the fighters involved.”

He said the August 11 card has two “very good matches” in the WBO bantamweight title fight between reigning champion Jhonny Gonzalez and former WBC super flyweight champion Gerry Penalosa and the WBO super bantamweight clash between champion Daniel Ponce De Leon and emerging Filipino ring sensation, undefeated Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista.

The card includes world-rated super flyweight Z ”The Dream” Gorres who was clearly robbed of a decision against WBO champion Fernando Montiel in Cebu last February and is now seeking a crack at the IBF title takes on dangerous Gerson Guerrero while world rated Bert Batawang faces Francisco Rosas in an IBF light flyweight eliminator.

Promising teenaged prospect AJ “Bazooka” Banal makes his second US appearance against former WBC light flyweight champion Eric Ortiz who now fights as a super flyweight while Philippine bantamweight champion Michael Domingo crosses mitts with undefeated Miguel Roman.

The Ring Magazine editor-in-chief said “I would encourage fans to support it” although he said the Cup itself which costs $500,000 and is encrusted with tiny diamonds and sapphires is “mere window dressing.”

For those who don't know ViolentDemise is of Mexican decent.

Am I the only who notices how biased some people are and how some people regardless if it's against their own they are willing to put it out there and just call it like they see. Look at these 2 posts and tell me whos biased and who isn't.....

OK... Wait a minute werent you one of the people who kept saying Boom Boom needed/deserved a shot at the title?
    I know you remember god.

I remember after Boo Boom beat Bonilla people already wanted him to fight PDL then, I kept saying and other people said he wasn't ready.
Boom Boom then balsted out 2 more opponents and the talks about Boom Boom got even bigger. That hes more skilled then PDL, that he would run circles around PDL that he punches harder if not as hard as PDL. That PDL lost to Gerry and there for Boom Boom would make it look easy.

Heres the fight now it's too soon for Boom Boom..... I take it has to do with his last outing against Medina.

It ain't being bias. Penalosa is old. Gonzalez will knock him out. Bautista is untested against good opposition. And I think his chin is a little shakey. De Leon will expose it. Brutally. Gorres is to slick for Guerrero. Rosas is better than Batawang. Banal is to young and skilled for Ortiz. And Roman is a good looking prospect who will walk right through Domingo.

1st and foremost this has nothing to do with Pac why do you insist in mentioning him?
    Were discussing Boom Boom.....
So you know I have nothing against YOU or ANY OTHER P.I./Phillipino person here. Some of my good friends are Phillipinos we hang out often I love them cause Mexican and PI culture is soo much a like and again they were both ruled by Spain so theres def. a connection there.
So please let's not make this a Boom Boom thread about Pac.
