He had an extra minute... they had to get him a new glove... if you can do that in 7 seconds then your godly.

    These guys are right.

Henry Cooper knocked him down. He was HUUUUUUURT. Precious seconds were added by the glove problem.

Close second is Frazier, in the first fight.... he had Ali staggering backwards, Ali played it more, but Ali was ready to be killed.... so he conned Joe that night, fooled him... Joe's trainer, Futch teased him about it later.... called it the "long walk" ..... had Frazier hit him once, he would have KO'd Ali

Check this out! I found it. You have to see the last 30 seconds of the footage! It's exactly what I was talking about.

Cooper, a perfect left hook! If Cooper had of won what would have happened to Ali?

Done basically the same except getting title shot later against Liston prolly in 1965.

I guess Cooper V Liston would have been made? How would big Henry have gone?

Then why slice his glove in half? Did a naughty, mischievous leprachaun do it for no reason? Damn them pesky leprachauns.
Angelo Dundee did that. Ali had nothing to do with it. Maybe he didn't have enough faith. that happened again a few years later (rope a dope)

To you Cooper supporters, you are wrong, wrong, wrong. Ali only received a few seconds extra time between the 4th and 5th: I have the fight and have timed each round (one through to five) for consistency, and even seven seconds is being generous. If you want to get really anal about it, Cooper actually knocked Ali down after 3 minutes had already elapsed in round 4 itself, so strictly correct timekeeping would have deprived 'Enery of the knockdown in the first place. Moreover, Ali got up pretty quickly (when the count was only at 3 or 4), and was standing in his corner waiting to come out for the 5th round fully 15 seconds before the bell rang for the start of that round. All you need to do is watch the entire fight for yourself. I posted at length on the fight a few years ago with all the timings, but it seems these days we can only locate our recent posts rather than entire history (sorry guys, I don't post much these days so am a bit out of touch), otherwise I'd unearth it for everyone.

Staying away from the argument about how much time Ali got between rounds after the Cooper knockdown, and whether Dundee ripped or didn't rip his glove........ I'd say that was "The Left Hook From Hell." I don't quite remember from the video, but didn't Ali have to be led back to his corner? Also, the fact that it happened at the end of the round, undoubtedly helped Ali also.
