    Default Povetkin Defeats Donald!

Alexander Povetkin scored a shutout decision over Larry Donald: 100-90 on all the judges' scorecards. Povetkin has been very immpressive in his young career and I honestly believe he will become a dominant force in the division. Larry Donald is no slouch, so I think it is fair to say Povetkin has raised his stock.

Very good...I think Larry Donald is still a good fighter and very difficult to catch up with for the power punchers out there....I am glad to see Povetkin could outbox him it tells me a lot about his skill.

The one thing that gets me about Povetkin is that he's not really all that big...6'2 225....it's an old school size of heavyweight like Holyfield or Tyson....that being said it'll be tough for him to fight guys like Wladimir or Vitali....anyone else he has a very good chance against

Job well done for Povetkin Donald might not be world class but he has the track record.
Again good win for Povetkin who gradually steping up I like how hes being carried along so far....

I strongly disagree here there is no way Povetkin is the 2nd best Heavy at this moment...
I don't even think hes in the top 15 right now...

    2nd best possibly right now...possibly

i think he could beat byrd, brock, valuev, sultan, tony thompson, ruiz...

which would make him top 5 right there with makeav, peter, chageav ...

and out of those guys povetkin is the only one who is going to get much better by fight time...

he would also dust rahman or toney... just IMO...

he also has a good chin

OK, wait your talking about who he can beat right now.
Thats different from saying you think hes 2nd best.
I took your comment as him being ranked #2 behind Wladdy.

For the record you 1st said hes #2 now your saying #5.

You mean hes 2nd best BUT because you think he can beat the top 9 guys....
    I see what your saying...
Heres how I see him fairing against some of the top guys.....

Wladdy - No need to discuss right now, Povetkin would completely be outclassed.
Peter - This would be a really good match up but I would def. lean towards Peter he has fought the better opposition.
Maskaev - I think Povetkin cruises to a pretty decent won UD by atl east 3 rounds.
Chagaev - Very interesting match up here cause I think their styles are somewhat a like I think Povetkin can pull this one off
Valuev - I think Povetkin cruises to a win here by 4 rds. clear decison but a snoozer IMO.
Ibragimov - I think Ibragimov takes this one by a close hard fought decision.

Beating Donald don't mean much. Donald always been a fighter who loses his biggest fights. And that was when he was in his prime. He's clearly shot now. I rather see Povetkin face some live competition.

Maybe they should do Alexander D. vs. Alexander P. to settle the debate of which Alexander is better.

i'm sorry i didnt make myself clear... i think povetkin can be the #2 right now or actually when he gets his chance over the next 2 to 3 years...

but yeah right now he should probably be ranked around 15-20.. he has fought outstanding competition for his first 13 bouts i think it is...

by around his 17 to 20th fight he should be fighting for a belt...

    Good deal....
Hes definitely got a shot at pulling through the rankings if he stays focused and continues to do what hes doing now.
