A little over a month ago we were discussing who was going to the IBHOF induction weekend. Now that's it's over I haven't seen anything posted about the weekend. I was really disappointed at this years induction. My son and I have been going to the induction for about 12 yrs. or so. This year had to be one of the worst. I paid $45 x2 for tickets to the "Night of the Middleweights" only to be hearded into cramped quarters to listen to some speakers and watch some fight films. The speakers and the films were good, but all the boxing celebrities were kept seperated from us cattle and there were no opportunities to meet anyone or get any autographs. Fortunately, I didn't spend money on the saturday evening banquet as I heard it was much the same as the previous night, i.e., the boxers were kept apart from the fans. To make things even worse, there was no "Breakfast of Champions" which is normally one of the best venues to meet fighters. We left in disgust prior to the "Parade of Champions."
I support the IBHOF with a financial contribution each year. I'm also not an autograph/memorobilia dealer who is there strictly for business purposes. I love boxing and meeting boxers.
I wonder if Ed Brophy has some kind of newsclip service that monitors what is being said about the IBHOF on the various websites? If he does I hope he reads this message. So he'll remember me I'ss sign my real name....
