Well, I cant hate on Bonds, even if he did use the roids...he's not the only offender. Doesnt make it right, but when you see guys like McGuire and Sosa , jacking 60+ a year...Baseball is to blame not Barry, they probably let alot of stuff slide , just to keep the boost in popularity.

That was fucken awesome and I'm SO GLAD he did it at home. What made it even more awesome was Hank Aaron congratulating Bonds on the screen. Before the last two games, Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali had done the same thing. Hank did it after, very classy and graceful by Hank and Bonds seemed appreciative. And I'm glad Frank Robinson was there instead of Selig. Awesome night, one that I'll never forget. I have tickets to the last two games of this homestand I think I might decline though, would have been cool to see him do it live but honestly, watching it period was just awesome. Great stuff.

Hell Sugar Shane Mosley done them too, His name was on the list with a lot of other sporting athletes. Hell Roids is wrong, But they should not criticize Bonds until they are 100%, And then they should take away all the homeruns after that date that he did take them, if he is found guilty

Come on Lyle....Allegedly using steroids in an era where batters and pitchers alike are juiced and betting on games that you are managing are not the same thing...If it was up to me though I put Pete in the Hall tomorrow.

ALLEGEDLY There's nothing alleged about the way his numbers jump up AFTER he peaked in 1993 with his home runs....now he was in his prime in that era and mid 40's to maybe low 50's but to go on and wait until 2001 to hit 73 having never touched 50 or 60...it's beyond suspicious

    93: 46
    94: 37
    95: 33
    96: 42
    97: 40
    98: 37
    99: 34
    00: 49
    01: 73

If there is one number that jumps out at you what would it be? It seems like mid 40's to high 30's is expected but in 2001 he skipped over the 50's and 60's and just hit 73 home runs....and that's ok because he just hit his prime at 37 YEARS OLD!!!

Pete Rose just was a crappy manager and crappy gambler he's still a great ballplayer. And Bonds would have been a great ball player had he not used steroids but that and the fact he's an asshole just means I hate him I think he's a piece of shit and if I was able to bring 90+ MPH heat I'd hit him in his gigantic head!

I have no respect for Bonds, I have no respect for A-Rod....I have some respect for Pete Rose because the way he played the game.

I dont really know what not hitting 50-60 hrs ever has to do with anything...People have great statistical years out of the blue all the time..Remember Brady Anderson...great two years then nothing...I only said allegedly b/c even with the evidence otherwise he's never tested positive. I understand not liking him personally, but I don't understand why people expect athletes to all be role models and mister nice guy..If Barry wants to have a more private persona and not cater to the media then I support him...He obviuosly isn't the most social person, but as I've said before I don't need him to be Mr. Sunshine just jack a long one when I go to the park. Just curious how do you feel about clemens?

Nobody has to like it,but during that era baseball wasnt testing for steroids, and wasnt suspending for it.
But for almost a 100 years the cardinal rule of baseball, that all players and managers are told when they get to the bigs is,dont bet on games

Actually...there was absolutely no direct steroid policy ever in baseball. The first time there ever was a few years ago where they tested everyone annonomously and said that if over 5 percent tested positive that they would implement steroid testing. This was during the fear of another baseball lockout. I think it was 4.2 that tested positive. Then nothing happened until the Balco stuff broke and Selig, Fehr and the other commissioners/union leaders went in front of Congress.

Rose meanwhile broke something that has been a rule since the Blacksox tarnished the World Series and damn near killed baseball.
