I don't understand why you think intelligence makes for bad eating though. If chickens are as intelligent as you say then perhaps eating them will be good for our own brains.

As for the chicken playing tic tac toe, is that classed as full time or part time work? Does he pay taxes? If he does and he's paying his way then I have no problem with him working in a casino and avoiding the usual fate of chickens.

But if he's earning money 'under the table' so to speak then I'd have no qualms about eating him

Oh and just a thought, how long do chickens live? I guess the age to be able to participate in licensed gambling in the US is 21.

If this chicken is underage he should be forced to quit immediately.

It was a ridiculous thread anyway!

Dog Fighting vs Hunting....if you make that comparison you obviously know nothing about hunting...or very little about dog fighting.

I agree that a lot people are sheep and are quick to jump and follow a "cause" like you were saying...then drop it once it's not longer popular.

But there were a lot of animal rights activists before the whole Vick case and they are always very outspoken. And to be fair i'm sure a lot of PETA members are vegetarians. I dont think they are hypocrites for the most part, but they are kind of extreme.

Deer and other hunted animals are usually killed and used for food, or like you said maybe a coat. Dogs are domesticated and dependent on people for survival. It is cruel when there is something dependent on you and you choose to neglect and torture it. So hunting is not as bad as just killing for the sake of killing or for entertainment. I think getting shot is a more humane way to die then getting mauled to death for the entertainment of gamblers, and at least wild animals get to live some sort of "real" life in the wild before they are killed.

If I had to slaughter my own animals to eat them I would likely be a vegetarian. Though If I was lost in the woods and starving or something I would kill and eat whatever I could. So I dont really judge about it because I know most people would do either depending on the situation.

I am no vegetarian, but if it's possible I think things should be treated as humanely as possible before getting killed.

Like with free-range meat at least the animals get to be outside and pasture and mature with their "peers" before they are slaughtered and are not locked in a cramped, dark, dingy cell in a factory which is all it knew in its life before being slaughtered.

That is why I eat meat and I am still against dog fighting. I give you a CC though because I agree people are fickle and easy to sway and know where you are coming from with your argument, but there are worse things to follow/believe in then animal rights.

The people who just took up the cause because it was in the news are indeed sheep and hipocrites for not complaining about hunting as well but the stead fast Animal rights extemists complain about both. While i believe peta to be just one step down from a terror organization and full of crazy illogical people, they DO stay consistant in their pro-animal/anti-human agenda.

They take it way too far tho. Throwing blood on little japanese kids to protest ANYTHING is bs. Sometimes I get the urge to wear a fur coat and leather pants (both of which i do not currently own ) to one of their demonstrations, pull out a quart of milk and some slim jim's, chug the milk, eat the slim jim's, say "MMMMM tastes like it was inhumanely killed" and then just leave.

I found this site awhile back. http://peta-sucks.com/ There's some interesting stuff in there, and I read a story where Peta was protesting KFC and the guy and a couple of friends came out with a bucket of chicken and started eating it right in their face. There's some pretty shocking facts and allegations linked to Peta.
    I know everything about nothing!

he is talking out of his arse.....now I will go on record to say that game hunting is worthless and needless. But hunting for food is needed. Chickens main existence is to provide food for humans. Dogs have assisted man in hunting food and protecting man for thousands of years!!!!!!!!!! two totally different things here. Dog fighting is also ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!!! As well it should be. At 1 time it was legal, but then again at that time women couldn't vote, segragation was in vogue and WWI had yet to be fought!!! Get a brain 702...you are falling down the evolution ladder at a rapid pace! Join the human race not the neanderthals! You're better than that!!!
It feels good to be back home.

I doubt the neanderthals engaged in dog fighting though. If you look at tribespeople today, the more primitive and indigenous the culture the more respect they have for the natural world.

Dog fighting and animal violence will probably continue the more 'civilised' we become.
