    Default Elbow Pain

I've developed some strong pain in my left elbow from overreaching on my jabs. If my palm is up the pain is on the hand side of my elbow, as opposed to the shoulder side, and right against the bone that sticks out. Has anyone had this problem and what have you done about it? Is there a way to protect it while I'm still training to let it heal...it has been about 3 weeks and I seem to hurt it everytime I spar.

    Thanks

Alot of variables, does it throb,or is it sharp and very centralized?

It is sharp but I only feel it when I am at the outer ROM either at fullyl extension or trying to touch my hand to shoulder. In the middle of the ROM it doesn't bother me and I don't feel anything.

Could be a bone chip, alot of times they disolve on their own,but not allways
Youll have to monitor it,see if goes away,if it doesnt decide if you can live with, otherwise youll need a minor scope
If it gets worse, you definitly want it scoped, because that means its pressing on something

It happened right after I was sparring, but never bothered me before that, and happened because I am sparring a guy 3 inches taller than me with a long reach, and I'm very new to this game so I was reaching hard to try to get to him. Do bone spurs show up that quickly? It was probably my 3rd time sparring ever.

They can show up totally at random, pitchers get them often because they have to stress their ligaments and the moments of loosness lets the bones grind,so if you were over reaching as you say,its very possible thats what happened.
Thats why I asked if it was sharp and pointed,or just felt overall sore, cause that might have been damage to the ligiment itself
Like I said, see if you can live with it,or if it just dissolves on its own. Because even a small spur that'll just go away can hurt like hell
Try resting it as well,if its a sprain of some kind(allways possible) see if that doesnt do the trick
Allways ice it regardless, after you use it

Iv had the same problem. It makes u feel like u cant extend ur arm fully. I brought mine to the doc n he said there was no problem, it could be just strained tendons/ligaments.
Do u flick ur jab or throw it down the pike?

I throw it straight off my face and try to whip it like a towel.

Yeah thats exactly like i used to do it and thats when i got the pain.
I throw it with more conviction now straight down the pike. Less speed but much less pain.

In saying that Sfc, at the start it is a lot, lot slower. And probably better for guys from Middle up who dont really on a fast jab so much...

I hyperextended/twisted my arm while i threw a straight. Its never been the same. Like when i relax my arm and tweek my elbow a little it would hurt like bitch. But when i flexed my muscle and moved it, it felt fine. Do these injuries ever go away? Or are there any stretches i can do for it?
