Sergio Mora: "I Can Beat Kelly Pavlik"

In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, Sergio Mora (19-0-1, 4 KOs), who won the first season of The Contender reality show, said that he possesses the tools to beat current WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (32-0, 29KOs). Mora is even willing to fight Pavlik in his hometown of Ohio.

"Having Kelly as the champion is exciting for the division," Mora said. "This is a division people like to watch, and Kelly's an exciting guy who throws a lot of punches, hard punches, and who starches people. But stylistically, Kelly Pavlik is someone I can beat. He doesn't have the athleticism or the speed or the head movement. He has great, great power, but you can offset that power with speed, movement and angles."

On Tuesday, Mora fought to a disappointing draw with Elvin Ayala, a result that is sure to knock him out of the Pavlik sweepstakes. Though, Mora is still being mentioned high on the list of possible interim opponents for Jermain Taylor, if Taylor decides to pass on a rematch with Pavlik.

Mora would make a better comedian than boxer.

As much as I'd like to see Kelly beat Mora silly, I really think it's beneath Kelly to even think about a fight with this dude. People would start to say Pavlik is looking for easy wins{I know I would}. Hope this doesn't happen until Mora at least does something worthy of praise.

what the hell the guy won some shady reality T.V show now his ego has grown to an uncontrollable size. He struggled against some no mark fighter on tuesday and he thinks he can fight Pavlik or Taylor. The guy couldnt even be a spar partner to these guys. The boxing world has gone mad first they put Manfredo in with Calzaghi and now they wanna Mora in with Pavlik. Denial isn't just a river in egypt.
