Practicing all the moves in coordination of my hands has been a big part of my training and still is. I also think just like mastery in any other artform/science you have to learn when to break the rules. Switching your stance, crossing your feet, feinting with your feet along with other things should be considered and understood when everything else has been mastered.
On top of that the boxing ring should not just be looked at as an area for you to move about, a big part of ring generalship comes from controlling the circle.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
Well done for enquiring practising these can dramatically improve your boxing.
I'll have a look for some.

thanx, i just find myself off-balance too much for it to be anything but footwork problems at this point...
Not always the case could be posture

i think its the footwork scrap, because i seem to be trying to catch up with my punches and starting to over reach or miss terriblly.....had a long lay off and need to get my timing and footwork back and better than it was before.
Yuove just told me its your posture

Is posture controlled by balance Scrap? Would you work that with your medicine ball and wobble board routines? I'd have put that with footwork into one big category as kinda working the same things?

Now for speed, agility, and stamina... Jumping rope; experiment with new things like 1 foot, jumping forwards and backwards, jumping laterally, any pattern you can thing of, vary speed and anything and everything you can think of. Let your mind have fun with the rope.
Get either small rings or dots you can place on the floor and jump with both feet together in the middle of the dots/rings. You can jump laterally through the entire pattern or jump and rotate your body in midair while moving through the dots/rings. Focus on jumping as soon as your feet hit the ground. Make up challenging patterns that are designed to work on fast paced jumping along with long distance jumping, make the pattern vary throughout almost like a race track, if your into racing.
Lemme know if this helps at all or i need to clarify something.

CC thanks Scrap - i had a big discussion about this with my bro last night and now think I understand it a little better. One of those things that seem so simple in hindsight I wanna slap myself for not getting it before - you're very patient putting up with all my stupid Q's!

If you would like to improve your footwork there is nothing better than basketball, especially defencive basketball drills, they will quicken your foot speed and co-ordination by a great deal. My favourites are foot fire and defencive slides; two sure fire ways to help your footwork and improve leg conditioning.
so scrap what is the fastest way to fix this?
Probably the one for fast hands thread with the guy with the Headband routine. Now his balance isnt bad and at the time He. haddened Boxed
