Default Who is next for Oscar De La Hoya ?

I've been thinking about this one and i just cant think who he is going to be fighting next. He is arragned to fight on may 08, but who is he likely to fight ? Ive been hearing he wants Ricky Hatton, but how would he get to 147? I also couldnt see Ricky Hatton going to 154, so how would this fight occur ? In terms of big name and carrer definers i dont see much at 154, so can anybody see him going back middleweight? I just cant see who he is going to fight, what do you think?

Dunno myself would say Forrest but he's fighting Michele Piccirillo so no doubt the winner of Mayweather-Hatton at 147

He said he would not fight Cotto out of respect for his PR wife. He will hand pick some one and if it is Hatton at 154lb then Hatton is a tart and will do anything for money.

Ye probbably, I dunno but there's no way on earth Hatton will go to 150-154 to face Oscar.

I know, and i cant actually see Floyd taking time in rematching him, unless he loses convincigly to Hatton. But its a tough one to call. I want to see him in another title fight.

Mate it depends what the weights at for DLH to kill Hatton, he certainly would'nt at 147 and Hatton would'nt go to 150 or above.

Hatton fight would be great, but I'm still holding out hope that he'll just accept Winky Wright's challenge. De La Hoya-Wright should have happened ages ago. Also, a fight with Vernon Forrest would be good.

That PR wife excuse is such crap. So if his wife was American he wouldn't fight any Americans? I think that isn't the real reason--I think he knows Cotto would carve him up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Oscar has been married for several years now; isn't the only reason the rematch didn't happen with Trinidad because he got spanked by Winky?

I dunno i think DLH kills hatton at any weight TBH i cant see Hatton bullying DLH at all....I think hatton trys to jump in as he does and DLH make's him know whos boss straight off....DLH is naturally a better boxer than Hatton....AND DLH will have the edge in power whatever weight....It's all in DLH favour.

I only think it would be Ricky IF he beats Mayweather.

I don't know if ODLH could get under 154 at this point though.
Another option would be that guy would be an option would be
Joachim Alcine (AKA the guy that beat Travis Simms).
Vernon Forrest is definately an option and has a relatively
recognizable name of course if Michelle Piccirillo wins he
could be an option as well. Personally I'd like to see him
fight Joel Julio though, he's recognizable, young and ODLH
    could retire with a W.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Oscar ain't fighting for nothing less than BIG MONEY. So pretty much all your suggestions are out.

Not saying I don't agree that some of those fights would be interesting and maybe even necessary to define the 154lb division a little better. But it just ain't happening.
