I've heard some interesting stories RE the paths people end up taking in life. People who start out in one industry and end up doing something completely different.

My grandfather was an iridologist, opal miner, dug out style house builder, houseboat rental company owner and Naturopath to name just a few of his professions. Unfortunately my family lived a long distance away from him so I never had the chance to get to know him well while he was alive.

I would've liked to ask him why he was attracted to so many different things and what he was really passionate about. It seems relatively unusual to have so many different careers.

So I'd love to hear about the different jobs people here have had and what motivated you to take the path you did. Any stories?
