You either respect their wishes or you do it in secret, which should you do? no one here can give you the answer Im affraid. By the sounds of things your very young, couldnt you make a compromise and ask if you can just do the non contact aspects? at least then when the time comes that you dont need your parents blessing you will be in good shape and ready to rock and roll.

You did tell them that you are more likely to get hurt playing golf than you are boxing right?

    Good luck

Just train in secret, but don't do any actual boxing. Then, when you are old enough to move out, you will have enough boxing experience and will be able to box all you want.

If you compete you will need to have a medical form filled in stating that its OK to give you treatment should it be necessary, if you are a child\minor your parent or guardian will have to sign.

have you talked to them properly about it or just nagged?

Let them help you find a good trainer who will make sure you don't get hurt, tell them all the positive things boxing can do for some one.

Any parents who wouldn't want you to box for fitness are just bad parents...
