I'll do mine in order...
I did mine based on respect/popularity growth and what they did in the ring..
1. Pavlik...... 3 career altering T/KO's against 3 highly respected fighters... he hit all 3 of them(miranda, taylor, zertuche) so hard that it was reasonable for any of them to retire after fighting him, and two of them are in their 20's.... he possibly knocked all of them out of their prime in 45 mins or less.. absolutely devastating power for 160....
2. Baby Bull Diaz... won 2 unified championship fights convincingly
3. Calzaghe.... blew out manfredo... broke down kessler... no broke hands
4. Cotto.... solidified his "the next great out of Puerto Rico" status
5. Mayweather.... went from a great from our time to a great of all time
6. Hatton... in his two fights this year against urango and castillo hatton only lost one round combined...and blew out castillo..
7. Klitschko.. hasnt lost a round this year... two blow out KO's against Austin and at the time seemed like one of his biggest threats Brewster.
8. Haye... fulfilled his potential... beat the man of his division
9. Pauli M.... went from just another Cotto victim to a respected, slick boxing champion.. in his two fights of the year (N'dou E. Cherry) he only lost 2 rounds combined
10. P. Williams... he only fought once but won a title and alot of people think he has the best chance matching up to the P4P #1 Floyd May...... he started the year a contender..
Cotto - I never liked him before and I thought he was mostly hype but a definitive win over shane mosely and judah definitely made me stand up and take notice.
CC ICB. I think Juan Diaz's stock went WAY up in my eyes. I used to not like him at all. I thought he was being spoonfed opponents and cosidered him the least of the Lightweight Champions. Now I consider him the absolute best at Lightweight. He's a windmill with breathtaking form on his punches and great heart and stamina. I love to watch the guy.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Pavlik. I never saw him coming.
Cotto & Diaz have done a good job of confirming my belief. Two of my favourite fighters.
All of the above although I disagree with Fire regarding Hatton only losing one round combined in the Urango Castillo fights. For my money Hatton lost a few of the late rounds against Urango as he seemingly gassed out and had to clinch and hold his way through the final third of the fight. The Urango performance was not impressive imo.
As for other guy's not yet mentioned whose stock has risen I'd say Vernon Forrest has done a good job in breathing new life into what looked to be an almost over career.
Alfonso Gomez has taken great strides in defeating credible opponents in Gatti and Tackie and showing he's more than just a journeyman fighter.
He's never mentioned but Tony Thompson has been progressing nicely and has shown signs to the more astute observer that he is possibly the biggest threat out of all the non belt holders in the heavyweight division, hopefully he'll get a major fight next year.
Call me crazy but Sultan Ibragimov has twice shown this year that he can be a smart fighter and a decent boxer in his wins over Briggs and Holyfield.
Still with the heavyweight division Eddie Chambers with wins over Dominic Guinn and Calvin Brock has shown that he is no longer just a prospect but a legitimate contender and Alexander Povetkin has shown that he could well be the future of the division with a win over Chris Bryd in just his 14th pro fight.
Gotta say Pavlik, no one can say they expected him to have the impact that he has had this year.

Underdog against Miranda. Greatly impressive, earns/FORCES shot at Taylor. Underdog against Taylor, wins a greatly entertaining fight.
