    Default Most respected division currently?

i would like to say that the most respected division comes down to the most respected boxers in and outside of boxing!

so i think the first top four divisions are very bad in respects to their boxing ability and very dissappointing.
    except calzaghe =)

but i think the most respected boxers are in the super featherweight division ( well not any more now that morales and barrera are retired) and welterweight(flloyd. williams, mosley cotto, margarito, berto, judah =) )

place your answer and your explanation
    mind over speed and power

There are lots of good divisions and rivalries right now.

Welterweight is number 1 obviously followed closely by super middleweight.

Then superfeather, super bantam and lightweights.

Cruiserweight has produced some great fights in 06 and 07.

The divisions that will really struggle next year for me are light welter, light middle and middleweight.

With Taylor and Miranda gone and with Pavlik possibly leaving to chase Taylor and Calzaghe it's going to be a pretty empty division at 160 next year.

This could be a good thing though with lots of new talents emerging. Chances for John Duddy and Sergio Mora winning world titles probably look best in 08/09 though. Once Pavlik has moved up it's pretty empty.

Who knows maybe even Floyd will venture up?

I agree that WW is the deepest division around, but it seems like it's alway's the deepest division, if we do an all time comparison of divisions it has to be WW

Absolutely. Welterweight has always been the most talented of divisions. 147 pounds represents the perfect combination of speed, power, and skill. Always has, always will.

The welterweight division is the hottest division in boxing right now...a pattern it seems to have...I swear that division is never in limbo more then 6 months.....

The champions actually have not even peaked yet...

Cotto, Williams, Cintron....and the WBC champion is the P4P king...

WW like pretty much everybody else

I will say this, I don't know why the cruisers get so little respect or attention, been some exciting fighters and exciting fights there the last few years. For the most part I'd rather watch the cruisers than the heavies, they've got the power and lack the one punch at a time sluggishness that a lot of the heavies seem to have.

I did enjoy it but if i remember right, Mormeck was running the last 4 rounds. And then the action went completely as i remember it.

Just a short while ago, Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales were in that list of fighters. About a year or two ago I would say that the super featherweight division was the best in boxing, but now, welterweight is where it's at...
