The management team of WBO world bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa has offered WBO super bantamweight kingpin Daniel Ponce De Leon a generous amount of money for a rematch in the Philippines. This was revealed by Penalosa's co-manager Billy Keane when interviewed Monday in the daily morning Philippine radio sports show "Sports Chat." Keane said they just learned that Ponce De Leon earned nearly $300,000 for his latest defense against compatriot Eduardo Escobedo last week. Keane added that they are offering Ponce De Leon more than what he earned for the Escobedo fight. Keane however revealed Ponce De Leon was asking for $850,000 for him to agree to a rematch in the Philippines.
