Default Improving Strength and Speed in the weight room !

Hey guys, it's me the noobie. Anyways, I really wanted to know what muscles would improve my Punch speed and power? I'm 16, 6'5, 190lbs, I'm in weight training classes at school so I hit the weights 5 times a week. If you guys could give me some info on what muscle groups needed to be worked to improve my speed and power, it would be really helpful, thanks!

    All of them.
There's not really a specific muscle group involved in punching... but even if there was working them isn't enough. You could develop strength/Endurance/Power (power is speed ) depending on how you work them.

I'm off for my traditional Christmas eve Pool game/Slightly drunken Muppets + Jingle All the Way watching extravaganza, I'll post something in depth later

Punching power is about leverage not completely about strength.
There are some seriously strong guys who can't throw a punch to save their lives. Genurally stringy slimmer guys hit harder.

By the sound of it you want to improve agilty the list of possible exercises is endless.

You can work on these things. Balance, coordination, speed, reflexes, and strength. All "anaerobic" without oxygen exercises.

Watch the beginning of this clip. The shadow boxing Mike does is well worth a try and a target to aim for.
Find out just how good you really are. LMAO

I found a dramatic decrease in my punchinmg speed and power when i dropped weights from my regime.

I do Shoulders, calves, core, pecs, triceps and biceps, but thats specifically for me.
