While I believe him to be a severely limited fighter, Kongo has to get a shot at this open title you would think. I would like him to fight the Mir/Lesnar winner after this and maybe just give the winner of that one the title.

No one in the division is going to beat him standing up and as much as I hate it, that hold on style he has, it works simply because of how big he is.

I think if you match him with Sylvia then you have some potential for a good fight since neither of those guys wants to go to the ground.

That's the only way either of those guys are in an exciting fight imo.

Yeah if he stays standing I give this fight to Kongo. He's a big heavyweight too, which is good for him since most UFC heavies are smaller.

I also agree amat he would be a good fight for Sylvia, but maybe not so much against Nog. Mir or Lesnar both would be a good test for him since they both like the ground and we could see how he reacts to that element.

Good discussion though I think depending on his groundwork Kongo could be a force.

Kongo's standup is good, but I haven't seen real serious KO power from him. His ground game is horrendous though. A well rounded fighter will be able to dispatch this guy. I agree though if he beats Herring he deserves title contention status
