EliteXC Feb 16 to feature Kimbo vs Tank

EliteXC through Sam Caplan has announced the initial fighters to the upcoming February 16th card in Miami, FL. The long awaited Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott much will be featured in the main event.
ProElite.com (SamCaplan.ProElite.com) has learned that the long-awaited heavyweight clash between Internet street fighting legend Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and former UFC staple Tank Abbott is scheduled to be the main event of EliteXC’s next show on Saturday, February 16.
The show, scheduled to air on Showtime at 10:00 p.m. ET, is slated to emanate from Miami, Florida. A venue has not been officially announced but the University of Miami has been rumored as a location.
In addition to Slice vs. Abbott, a middleweight matchup between Australian Kyle Noke and former UFC fighter Scott Smith is also scheduled. Antonio Silva and James “Colossus” Thompson are slated to compete on the card as well, in separate bouts.
Abbott and Slice had been scheduled to fight each other on October 12 in Atlantic City, NJ for the Cage Fury Fighting Championships promotion. However, the promotion ran into financial difficulties and was forced to cancel the card. The cancellation allowed Slice to become a free agent, and he signed a lucrative contract with EliteXC

I cant wait for this one either, and I usually dont watch MMA's. I dont know if Tank is washed up or not but I just remember him from some of the first UFC's and he was a badass mofo. He couldnt wrestle for shit tho, Kimbo may take him out on the ground like Mercer. Tank isnt going to scared like that last guy with the cheesy goatee...

Yeah I really don't like Kimbo, but he's younger and stronger and if his training is going well he could beat Tank.

Tank is old and is a has been. He's strong but has lost to some nobodies, I think his time is over. Tank's biggest advantage is his iron hands and his experience. At least he knows what to expect fighting in a large venue with the pressure and all.

Well yesterday i watched highlights of Tank downing 5 bottles of beer before taking on some chubby IT Technican or sub teacher or whatever. Anyway he punched himself out after about 30 seconds before getting stopped about 1 minute later.

So with that in mind, i'm going for Kimbo to brutalise the old fat man.

His opponent said 'he knocked me out with the 1st punch and then woke me up with the 2nd'

I think if you get through the first minute you have a great chance of his cardio system packing in.

Tank will gas, and just absorb punishment but if it goes down, that will be interesting.tank never showed a great knowledge of ground fighting but with his lack of a neck that is where i would want to put him esp if i managed to get a side or top control position...i can only imagine what it would be like to have him in your guard raining punches down

I've never had the pleasure of seeing Tank fight (yet). I know Kimbo's a real beast for the 1st minute or so, his only problem is he has no stamina. If Tank can outlast him, he may win.

The only guy I've actually seen beat Kimbo was Sean Gannon, but that was just a backyard fight. I'm looking forward to see who wins this one.
