    Default My training routine

Hey, I'm a 16 year old southpaw who has been boxing training for 1 year (I havn't had any bouts yet tho). I'm 6ft 2 inches tall and weigh 10 stone/63KG. Here is my training routine which I fit into my schedule.
Please give me advice, I appreciate it.

    Monday -
At the Boxing club (5x3 minutes skipping, 3x3 minutes shadow boxing, 40 minutes bag work and finally a 10 minute bodyweight exercise circuit)

    Tuesday -
10x2 minute rounds shadow boxing with 1kg dumbbell in each hand.
20 minutes interval training on treadmill/rowing machine.

    Wednesday -
    Basically the same as monday.

    Thursday -
10x2 minute rounds shadow boxing with 1kg dumbell in each hand.
30 minutes full body weight training.
90 minutes 5 a side Football (Good cardio!)

    Friday -
Same as Mondays and Wednesdays, but with sparring instead of bag work.

    Saturday -
    Maybe a rest/Cycling

    Sunday -
    Maybe a rest/Cycling/Football

Sounds pretty good man, whats ur problem with it? is this not working for you? id say maybe add a couple a mornings of road work and sprints but other than that without seeing the intensity your performing this at its hard to say.

    Thanks for replying mate.
I actually did incorporate long distance roadwork (4 miles) in my programme on tuesdays and saturday evenings but after doing it for a couple of months, I had lost over 1 stone in weight which has made me feel weaker and sometimes a bit lethargic but I always complete my training.
However, I may add some sprints into routine - perhaps 10x100meters with 30 second break but i'm not sure yet . But thanks for the suggestion.
As for the intensity, I would say its fairly intense as in every session I sweat a lot and I feel like I have been working out.

Also, you don't think I'am overtraining do you?
Because I'am only nearly 17 and I was told I'm doing too much by a bloke at my weightlifting gym.

My diet is clean for a teen LOL, I eat ALOT but good foods
Typical diet for weekdays is -

    Breakfast -
Large bowl of fruit and nut muesli.

    Lunch -
2 or 3 chicken salad or tuna cucumber or ham salad or cheese onion sandwiches.
    1 Banana
    Apple

    Dinner -
Varies from spaghettii bolognaise, sunday roast, lasagne, pie and mash, tuna and pasta, chilli con carni, fish salad with jacket potatoes and sometimes pizza.

    Before bed -
    2 slices of toast.

I also just drink mainly water - about 2.5 litres a day.

OK there's one thing that you should know...
You're a tall southpaw = everyone hates you!!!

You've got one of the greatest natueral advantages any fighter could wish for. Work it to your adavntage and work on that jab and cross as well as foot movement. You could become a very dangerous opponent if you master your movement and therefore gain the ability to dictate your opponents movement.
