Shoulder problems

Anyone know the symptoms of a rotator cuff injury? I've had shoulder problems in the past, but this time it's really bad. I injured it using a tricep extension machine. Too much weight. I have a Dr.'s appointment, but it's two months away. Any input is greatly appreciated. Oh, sorry, the symptoms, when I move my arm in certain directions it feels like someone is twanging a guitar string inside my shoulder.
