    Default Roman Gonzalez next fight

Gonzalez, just twenty years old, out of the Nicaraguan capital of Managua, will take on Javier Maravilla Murillo (7-7-1) in a ten-round minimum weight fight.

Nothing to really get excited about, stay busy type thing unless that guy's got an insanely deceptive record, but nothing wrong with him keeping busy till he gets a title shot.

I gotta say last year as the kind came on the scene I thought he'd be a champ this year but I gotta say that since the move up in weight and all I gotta question whether the kid can beat Solis, Calderon, Asloum or Sosa.

I mean really out of the 4 the one that I would say Romans got the best chance at is Asloum and that's due to Asloums style. With Romans come forward attack style he could pressure Asloum all night and not be worried about the feather fisted Asloum.

I haven't seen the guy enough but that's probably right. Its hard to favor him over Calderon, its not like I would be shocked if he beat Solis, I like Solis but he's not invulnerable. But I would still probably favor Solis.

Just going by the Asloum-Parra fight I would say that Gonzalez could beat Asloum. Asloum might have improved a lot since then though, he was so tentative in that fight.

BTW I gotta spread some rep around but I'll get back to you.

Wow! Ouma a bit suprised at the Solis comment. I mean I can't see Roman beating Solis for the better part of me. I just can't matter a fact I favor Solis to beat Calderon. I think he would capatilize far more then what Cazares did. I'm not saying Solis will beat Calderon, I'm saying I would favor and pick Solis to pull it off.

I wouldn't favor him, I'd just be less surprised if Gonzalez beat Solis than I would be if he beat Calderon. Just think Calderon's style is wrong for Gonzalez. I like Solis, just see more vulnerability there, I would give Gonzalez a better chance of landing something big against Solis than I would against Calderon. On the other hand he's obviously got a lot bigger chance of being knocked out against Solis.

I'd still pick Calderon over Solis. Good fight though.
