    Default Joshua Clottey interview

    BOXINGTALK

In an Arum interview,Clottey fights for the vacant IBF title after the Tony v Cintron fight. Yeah, that's right, the winner of that fight,in order to fight Cotto, will have to vacate their title. WTF? I smell something dodgy coming up like the winner of Tony v Cintron not wanting to vacate the title and then Mayorga being drafted in to face Cotto, which,if it happens,is crooked to say the least.

My favourite part of the Clottey interview: "I really like Shane Mosley very much because he usually talks to me when I see him."

    How cool is Shane!

What a odds Gamo , i hearded if Cintron take the fight with Margarito , he have a mandatory fight with Clottey , so that mean if Margarito win he inherit the mandatory fight and that probably going be after Cotto. So now the things are changing ahhhh......

Can't see Margarito screwing up another big payday with Cotto b/c of some mandatory... Besides, how many people really think Margarito wants to rematch with Clottey...?

I see something coming down the pike involving Clottey & Quintana, but don't hold me to it...

As for Mayorga... he gets title shots all the time after losing fights, so what would be new here? At least he got a W (@162lbs) in his last fight. Does that make him a contender? NO, but how the hell does this guy get so many chances anyway

Margarito would fight Clottey again if he had to. Don't forget, the first time they fought,Clottey was a voluntary defence.

It was a voluntary defense when NO ONE would fight him and he had been off for a very long time. Also, this was the lead up to what was supposed to be his 2007 fight with Cotto, and we all know the rest of that story.

He is now a 'money player...' at least more so now that he has been beaten and FMJ won't fight anyone at WW. I think he plays his cards right and takes only the big money fights from here on...

Quintana still has to 'earn' his since he blew it against Cotto, but it would be good to see Quin against Clot.

I think the winner of Tony vs Cintron(will most likely be Tony imo) is in for a loss in their next fight, whichever option they choose. I do give Cintron a chance at Cotto though, but I don't see him beating Margarito anyways. I also think both would lose to Clottey. If Tony wins, he isn't going to be dumb enough to take his mandatory rather than cash in against Cotto.. He already made that mistake which put him on the sidelines till now, and I really doubt he want's to fight Clottey again.

Well after all this lets hope Clottey does not blow his chances in a tune up. From what I have heard he does not seem to have really pushed for the KO when he could have in recent victories.

If Clottey is to fight for the vacant title who will it be against?
