hows it going james thomas? it depends like do you mean for training? cuz im 16 and for training right now i use 16oz gloves but when i get the money will move up to 18 or 20 oz gloves. or do you mean for fights cuz there i think you would use lighter gloves 10oz or 12oz maybe even 8 but don't qoute me on the fight ones still figuring that part out. but good luck

i baught this speed ball and the think to puut it up with but they dident have a board to put it up in. shoud i build it my self and than u guys know how :P or just go buy one i just cant find the been looking in many stores down here in sweden approximatly what they cost...(and if u know witch ones are the best if its important) :P

Just get two L shaped metal shelf brackets and a board of timber for on the top of the brackets. Drill the swivel bracket (that they gave you) into the centre of the board.
Fix it to your wall.

make sure you get the correct height.

OR make a backing board so its adjustable if different height people are going to use it.

Make sure the top board is big enough so that you dont smack your knuckles onto the edge when punching, make the top board big enough so its above your head, not in front of it.

It depends on how big you are and how hard you hit...I am a superheavyweight and wear 14oz. gloves to hit the bag and I guess 16-20oz for sparring I have to buy some of my own soon, I am wondering what type to buy as well...ask your trainer or a guy at the gym you go to

Alright i'm currently 6' 220lb with a 100lb heavy bag. I plan just to use the bag to do some sort of aerobic exercises, to take the place of some of my running or gym workouts, i don't plan to be a boxer; I have handwraps from everlast, but are they necessary for the exercises that i want to do? I know that it is necessary for proper methods are the ones at http://www.boxinggyms.com/tips/handwraps.htm adequate? My last question is; right now i just punch the thing, trying to use proper form, but is there some sort of work out video tailored more to what i intend to use the bag for?

Hey Banjo, have your folks take you to a sporting goods store, check out the boxing section and try some gloves on, you want to make sure you find a pair of gloves that are just a little loose, keeping in mind that you need to wear handwraps (That's like a long bandage boxers wear around their hands for protection)

Everlast and Title are good brands, just make sure you find a glove that fits you, and is well padded. I recommend you get a 14oz+ to be safe.
Sparring/Training gloves tend to have more padding, and Competition gloves have less, for now I suggest that you get sparring gloves for now, you can get competition gloves when you are ready to beat someone up.
