    Angry The Boxing Channel

Wouldn't it be a good idea if a Boxing Channel was created with Live action and news with reruns of old and recent fights etc. I would even pay a subscription fee to have it.......I am wondering why this hasn't been done yet and if not WHY not

Job Biscuit (If i am the first to think this then I would like 10% of fee)!!!

Thought about this before aswell. Great Idea but the money comes from each fight individually so whatever subscription fee's paid would have to be split between each fighter for the purse..i Dont think they would have enough money to pay all the fighters. Unless they showed up and comers.

Wich would be great and then the big events can go via pay-per veiw or deals with other TV stations i suppose.

It's probably the promoters stopping anything like this happening though.

I like the idea, it would be nice to have exposure to more prospects and more international fights. I would like to see fights in Colombia, Thailand, Argentina and Japan. Make it happen Otley I will pay for your channel.

Thats a real shame cause it would be a really good thing for a dedicated channel like this to show talkshows, documentaries, live shows, replay of boxing shows, boxing movies etc....I think it would be absolute Gem of channel and would get big ratings all over the world....Maybe one day I guess this could happen.....!!

I couldn't imagine a boxing fan who wouldn't want this. I would like to see fighters from every area of the globe. I would like to see amateur boxing. I would like to see goofy toughman contests just for chit n giggles.

Unfortunately though, we are not the mainstream, and it is all about the almighty $$.

I always assumed american channels like HBO/Showtime showed replays of boxing matches every so often

Boxing in the uk is also extremely limited, its all about money if you ask me. Said TV channel can broadcast a UFC event for virtually nothing yet one PPV boxing replay will cost more money than its actually worth for the station.

Boxing is the one true worldwide sport - its played in all continents (dont quote me on antartica) by all religions, sizes etc.

In a way im actually kinda glad. If the UK ever got a round the clock boxing channel that showed up to date weekly worldwide boxing shows i think id give up my job, give up my social life and just spend my life infront of the box 24/7

In America it plays out like this

HBO/Showtime each show 1-2 fights a month and will sometimes replay the featured fighters previous fights IF they were on that channel before.
*Both channels require extra fees to get them

ESPN2 has Wednesday and Friday Night Fights usually missing one week a month for each for some other sporting event while the season is on that's about 6 fights a week.
*Basic cable, must have cable to get it

Versus. has the odd fight every once in a while once a month or so.
*not provided by all services partially covered by cable

Telefutura usually has fights on Friday's but not always it's on basic cable where I live and is an all spanish telecast.

Telemundo has a random fight on every now and then, it is also an all spanish telecast.

Who knows if boxing continues to pick up they just might. I think sopcast has an all MMA channel if I am not mistaken. I would rather see an all boxing channel myself but I don't make the rules.

In oriental countries alone, I know a couple of 2 boxing tv programs in the Philippines that I can affiliate with, "blow by blow" and "fistorama". There's one in Japan, "Wow Wow". And some in Indonesia and Thailand.

You get wednesday night fights in the US??

oh you guys are so lucky!!

No sport in the UK gets a 10th of the coverage football gets.

Friday fight night is the only guaranteed live boxing we get each week, If theirs a big fight stateside on a saturday we`ll get that as well but thats usually reserved only for the likes of cotto, mayweather, klitschko, pacquiao, ODLH

apart from that its espnclassics, nutstv, fightchannel etc for classic fights which usually consist of either nigel benn or chris eubank.

god bless the likes of ICB and el gamo for the work they do upping the fights for us!!
