Juan Diaz was born in America, none of the other people you mentioned were. Lived there his whole life. There's been an argument about this before with ICB but if you're born in a country I consider you of that country.

But then Vitali would be Soviet, and they don't exist anymore.

Mavrovic would be Yugoslavian, but they don't exist anymore??

What I like about Malignaggi is he doesn't try to BS the public when he gives a bad performance

if you'd heard him on Wednesday nights he didn't even use the hand or the braids as an excuse for why he looked bad.

He said "Ndou changed up his game plan a little. Broken hand or no broken hand, braids or no braids, there's no excuse for performing like I have in the last 2 fights"

Like Atlas said, he is an honest fighter, and I like that about him. The fact that he talks trash and walks in intending to do exactly that and if he doesn't he criticizes himself and is honest about it.

Most fighters just avoid the fact they looked crappy. He blatantly states it. So thats one thing I like about him

    Born: USA
    Resides: USA
    Speaks: English

So where are you claiming he's from?
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Could we be saying that he's not American because his last name is Diaz? Someone didn't do their research!

Anyway, top 5 favs - Shane Mosley, Andre Berto, JUAN DIAZ!, Malignaggi and David Diaz. Mosley cos he's just class. berto for the potential excitement factor, Juan Diaz cos of his come forward style, Malignaggi cos of his attitude and heart and D.Diaz cos of his post fight interview language!

Least favs - Any of the heavyweights bar Arreola!

    Favourite Fighters :

Bernard Hopkins - he's one of the smartest technicians i've ever seen and has fought some quality fighters in his career......and made them look silly. I'm surprised so many people dislike him. He fights dirty but he's not the only one. One poster on here (JT) has Holyfield who is known for using his head as a favourite and dislikes Hopkins for the same reason . Come on JT, give Hopkins a break.

Timothy Bradley - The guy has very good skills, he can do it all imo. He's wants to fight the best and has proven himself against very solid opposition so far.

Evander Holyfield - A true warrior, The guy had great heart and skills to back it up. A fighter i have aton of respect for. I wish he would call it a day though.

Muhammad Ali - Do i really need to explain ? at a young age had amazing reflexes and athelticism, Once age caught up with him, he adapted his style so he could still compete with top fighters and beat them. An absolute legend.

Chad Dawson - The guy has tons of talent and is a really nice guy. It's unforenate for him because the division he is in lacks names and he isn't popular enough to get big fights (Hopkins, Calzaghe, etc).

Shane Mosley - Sugar is a beast, fights the best, has incredible speed and power and underated boxing ability imo.

    Least Favourite Fighters:

Paulie Malignaggi - The guy has good boxing skills but i hate his big mouth. He always talks about getting robbed against Diaz in the first fight when it's not like some dodgy decision haven't gone his way before (2nd Ndou fight, Ngoudjo).

Jesse Brinkley - The guy is a asshole. I remember watching him on the contender against Robin Reid and Reid beat him clearly. When Reid went to give a hug and show some respect, He turned his back on him and was really immature about getting beat. I don't like that. Fighters should show other fighters respect.

Peter Mafredo Jr - For obvious reasons, He sucks.

Andre Berto - I quite like Berto, it's clear he has skills but his title defenses are a joke. He's only fought one top WELTERWEIGHT contender during his reign and it's a fight he argueably lost. His other defenses are against natural Junior welterweights who were too small and had no power (Forbes and could possibly be Paulie this year) or too limited (Urango) to compete with him. Hopefully he steps up and fights some real welterweights this year.

I can't think of anyone more at the moment. I will add them once i remember.

Hahaha Joke Calzaghe ain't a Brit fighter...but I understand where you're coming from. He sucks so bad he can be my worst British and U.S fighter

Well this thread came back from the dead!?

My fave US fighters are/were :

    Mayweather
Fernando Vargas (laugh but he had talent and balls of steel for such a young fighter..check his resume and his age at the time of his big fights)
    Mallignagi (outspoken-ness)
    Winky Wright
    Mosley
    Emmanuel Augustus

    Least Fave :

Andre Ward (don't like his OTT bible bashing and style in his last fight was horrible)

Actually can't think of many US guys I don't like, everyone that springs to mind is outside of the US. Kermit Cintron, Margarito, Froch.

By the way, whatever happened to Lefty??

    Favourite

Mayweather - He's the best. Brilliant to watch.
Malignaggi - Mainly for that advert he did for the Nintendo Wii (i think)
Hopkins - For the Pavlik clinic. Poetry in motion.
    Taylor - For the spectacular Hatton-esque Ko's

    Least Favourite

Andre Dirrell - Boring style, and the way he got in Froch's face in the build up to their fight annoyed me.

Zab Judah - Gobshite who isn't entertaining with it.

Kelly Pavlik - I ordered a Pavlik Affliction t-shirt and it didn't fit me. So meh.
