Default Oscar: One more fight!(Not two anymore!!!)

Oscar De La Hoya says he's no longer planning to have two more fights before retiring. "One more and that's it," the Golden Boy told Reuters. "This is my final year. I'm doing one fight and hanging up the gloves."

This is nothing more than ODLH returning the ball into Mayweathers court isnt it?

    Yup.

I think this proves that Floyd and Oscar are engaged in a high stakes Poker battle, bluffing each other, raising the stakes and trying to outwit one another.

Actually, I'd prefer Mora to Floyd. And I don't think Oscar's trying to call PBF's bluff. I think he's being the pretty girl and getting all dressed up for the boys to come a-courtin'.

I'd prefer Mora because Floyd doesn't need any more promotion. Whether he's retired or not, if he does decide to fight again, people will tune in because they know him. This would be the opportunity for Mora to further showcase his skills. It's high-risk, low-reward for Oscar and probably won't happen, but they could bill it as 'The Contender vs. That-Boxing-Show-Oscar-Had-That-Flopped'.

    Mayweather - no
    Hatton - no

Wonder who ODLH is now eyeing up for a september showdown.

I would assume cotto, margarito, mora, williams, quintana, forrest even pavlik will now be out of reach due to the fact they have all either just fought or about to.

ODLHs big farewell is beggining to look more like he being put in with an also ran rather than that last big superfight he craved so badly!!

Then let him fight Winky, Forrest, Spinks or someone like Duddy.

Hell get Tito back in there!

From a money making perspective De la hoya-Trinidad the rematch could work.

But ethically would it be anymore right than holyfield-tyson III??

If Mayweather's out of the picture, Oscar should fight Trinidad. That fight would sell massive PPVs! Plus, Oscar isn't exactly at the "make an impact on the division" stage of his career - so why not go out with an entertaining bout rather than a dangerous fight with one of the current 147-154 contenders? I thought Trinidad looked good vs. Jones (despite the outcome), and I think he'd look even better against Oscar. Those two both have enough in the tank for one last go-around - and I'm still not sure who'd win.

Oscar-Trinidad: tons of cash, plus a chance to leave on a high note.
Oscar-Cotto/Margarito: still a lot of cash, but probably not as much, plus a much more dangerous fight.
Oscar/Mosley: It would probably sell pretty well, but we've already seen it twice
Oscar-Mora/Collazo/etc. : Weakest option, financially and from an entertainment point of view. But ODLH has had an awesome career, so he should do whatever he wants to to end it.

    Oscar Delahoya vs Mike Tyson

I would like to see him fight and beat Cotto before he retires, besides money which he has a balls load worth I think he has a ton of pride. He is a young man being succesful in an old mans game(promoting) with that being said he is still a world class competitor and fighter he was born and bred for that, he is a great of this generation and a winner not just a pretty face so to say.

    I say he fights Cotto

    Either....

    A) This is a ploy to make Floyd act on the rematch, if his retirement was just another ploy....

    B) Oscar wants to go out against a top dangerman, but won't be fighting on Sep. 20th( Cotto/Marg winner won't have enough time to get ready)...

    or

    C) He's just going to cash in on a meaningless name fight against Mora or Trinidad, etc.

Who knows, Im actually fairly interested to know what the hell is really going on behind the scenes with DLH fighting.

The only fight that makes sense for him, if he really wants to prove his mettle at this stage, because he did say he wanted his last fight to be a war, is the Cotto v Tony winner.

Blah blah.....I don't take it seriously and have no idea why boxing fans take fighters' retirement or "one or 2 more fights and I'm done" talk seriously.
