Default Anyone know how I can free some space on my pc

Hey guys, hope you're all cool. Kinda miss posting here. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I fre space on pcs? I had GIGS worth of free space but whenever I shut down, Windows asks me if I want to install these important updates for my security. Obviously I'm going to say yes. The problems is,over the last 2 months, they' eaten over 3 gigs worth of space.

So,are there any programmes that make more space?
    Are WINDOWS UPDATES a must?
Can I delete old WIndows updates from like 2006?

Ah this is a quite a suprise I was certain today's tutorial request was going to be about sandwich making

Anyway in answer to your questions.

Firstly there is a cool feature found hidden in every version of Windows called the 'Add and Remove Programs' function where you can uninstall programs you don't use.

Secondly you will see in any version of windows made circa 95 that you have a picture of a bin on your computer screen. This is your 'recycle bin' and if you drag files into it you can delete them and thus remove them from your harddrive and gain some free space.

As a direct answer to your specific question though, you want to know if you can install a program that actually increases free space on your harddrive?

Let me ask you to think for a moment as the wise old hobbit attempts to get philosophical with you.

Do you think you could increas the size of a hole by filling it with a special kind of soil?

Therein lies your answer Gamo, think hard and ponder on this.

If you decide you can then I also have some magic sweets that will multiply in number the more you eat

Delete those 'how to make a jam sandwich' and 'how to ride a bike' video files and you'll claw back much needed space.

    Hope this helps.

Not sure if you have tried any of these programs but they should free up some space, not sure how much though.

And how about the Windows updates? are they really necessary? They take up so much space but on the other hand, I do not wish to compromise my security.

the updates only come once in a while so if you are getting updates like every other day or everyday you have a virus.
I have heard of this virus that acts like the windows update but it is just eating up more space with garbage everytime.
