Default Resistance Tubing for improving punch power and speed

has anyone used something like this before?
Pro Shadow Boxer from Title Boxing
    Has anyone used something similar?
I'm looking for something that I an use to add elastic resistance to my punches so I can shadow box and train punches individually or as combos.
The way I'm hoping to use this is by alternating 2 minute shadowboxing rounds, first with the resistance and then without, which is a form of complex training
    thoughts? would this be effective?
    thanks

Its even more effective to get your hands back in to guard, it creates the muscle memory to get your hands snapped back in to guard after you punch,we use Dynabands

what about the opposite that Scap uses? Where he has the resistance pulling the hands away rather than towards the body?

Id do that in slow motion, but it should help
Like I said,I use it from behind to train snapping back in to guard, but on a slow resistance I can see it working

Used like the guy in the photo it only adds resistance to the arms, and might promote being tense while punching, wouldn't personally use it like that.

Like you said, Scrap has some good ideas about the rubber tubes but he uses longer improvised ones stuch to a post rather than these.

can u explain to me how Scaps concept improves speed? i don't understand how a resistance that is pulling towards the direction I want the punch to follow is helping! lol

    thanks

The reason being its how fast the shot comes back not forward.

so you're saying a fast punch is more reliant on how fast it is pulled back to a guard rather than punched out Interesting, I can see how that would work when throwing a flurry as the faster a punch comes back, the faster another can be thrown.

But what about beating the opponent to the jab, surely it's a matter of how fast the jab is sent out?

Does that mean we should just train both

    thanks Scrap! and others!

the item shown is fundamentally flawed and offers little if any resistance. get yourself two wrist straps and some bungee cord. much better.

You get plenty of resistance training for the forward motion when hitting a bag, but I believe many fighters use the resistance for this as well, there's early footage of Dempsey using it.

    thanks,

are you from the UK Scrap? Could you tell me how you set up the resistance bands for the shadowboxing? and where did you purchase the equipment needed?

I've only started posting recently but I've been reading posts here for months and you seem like a great and knowledgeable trainer! Would it be possible to arrange some training with you?

    thanks a lot
