No doubt. Ive read that the New York comission initially wanted to promote this as an Exibition as Walcott was so under the radar. From what I have seen,Walcott boxed his ears off.Louis sure appeared to belive he had lost it even before they announced decision ?

He better have,Jersey Joe whupped his ass the entire fight,it wasnt a victory,it was abuse of the elderly,no way was it even close. You could argue Holmes/Spinks,you could argue Hopkins/Taylor, you cant argue this,Walcott kicked his teeth in.
Say whatever you want about Jersey Joe Walcott,I dont care what the record says,he was Heavy Weight Champion that night.
I have the fight on DVD and just rewatched it repeatedly,he won

You can't argue Holmes vs Spinks 2 if thats the fight what your implying and not the 1st one because the 2nd was a robbery, but Louis did KO Walcott in the rematch so he erased the robbery in the first fight.

Hell I thought Holmes won the first one as well
But for that night, just like James Braddock,Jersey Joe Walcott was champion,I dont care if they didnt put a belt around his waist, he won the fight easily.
It really wasnt even much of a fight

I have a documentry on the bouts.

Louis took Jersey lightly due to the bums he had been fed.

Joe stated in the rematch it was the hardest he had trained since the schmelling rematch.

I hate to admit it, but I remember that fight well. We all thought Walcot got hosed and even Joe knew it. However, he redeemed himself in the rematch. JJW was a cuties' cutie and good do things in the ring that were astounding. He also had a deadly left hook with great hand speed.

From what I have read Louis was walking out of the ring thinking he had lost and they had to call him back to raise his arm. Louis was old that's the only reason it was competitive. Walcot was winning the second fight as well until Louis landed some vicious punches late to put him away.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

That is absoutley correct. Louis knew he lost.
