Witchboard starring one Tawny Kitaen.... You'd remember her from Whitesnake's Here I Go Again music video.
Looooong movie. Tawny Kitaen has a bit of a man-ish face, really rough looking these days. Smashup would have partied with her.
Hotel Mumbai - Proper good. Because of the way it was shot (looked more like TV than film) the shootings were seriously realistic, plus the archive footage spliced in to add to the realism.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I am finally going to see it tomorrow. I can't wait. By all credible accounts it is meant to be a good film and I don't usually get excited about films.
English with subtitles. I want the full wxperience with a film like that. Animations are the only ones that tend to get dubbed. Games too mostly stay in English. To follow a film I need DVD and a pause option. Just too fast for me. I get the gist but too fast. Same with my wife watching a Blackadder episode. Very fast and odd use of language. Her English is superb, but having Flashheart full throttle with double entendres is not easy.
Phone....not inventing new words to confuse non native speakers.
Joker was excellent. I preferred this to the Batman films as it makes you think and is a genuine character study. The themes presented did make me think and obviously you do feel empathy for Joker despite what he ends up doing. It is definitely a film that raises a lot of interesting questions about society, upbringing, mental illness, and alienation. I found the parts where he was trying to determine who he was quite painful to watch. It hits a nerve. Joker reminds me of the Morrissey line: "See the luck I've had could turn a good man bad". Arthur was not born a monster, but in the end abandons himself to nihilism and you find it hard to blame him. Does that mean you are making excuses for bad people, for people who are making excuses for their own conduct? Maybe, but he is not responsible for society or his mother allowing a man to give him brain damage. Maybe it is somewhat in the middle and we should consider the person and what they do rather than automatically apply the label 'Monster'. In his life he obviously got very little respect and suffered a great deal. A very interesting take on the Joker.
I also thought the cinematography was great. It really captured that decayed, gritty New York period of Taxi Driver very well. The score was also very nicely done. I would like to see it one more time.
The films I've seen at the cinema over the last 2 months ranked in order:
1-Joker (just a shame I wasn't in it)
2-ready or not
3-Zombieland 2: double tap
4-IT: chapter 2
5-Ad Astra
6-Terminator: Dark Fate
7-Rambo: Last Blood
8-crawl
9-gemini man
Going to see Dr Sleep next week as well, the book was gash so I'm hoping the film is a little better
How was the Terminator?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Shit, Arnie has been reduced to the comedic sidekick, it's very much "I am woman, hear me roar" CGI was terrible at times, the new bad guy (Rev-9) isn't as menacing as the T1000 was and he basically gets his ass handed to him every time he fights the bird terminator person thing
Best one since T2 but that isn't saying much
