Meh, Hollywood will probably fuck it up. You can't get wilder than the truth when it comes to Escobar. Check out this documentary, if you haven't already.

To this very day,I dont think anybody knows what really happened with Escobar. There are so many conflicting stories. About the only thing everyone can agree on, is as his paranoia grew,he became a seriously bloodthirsty SOB. Ive watched a few documentaries on him,and they allways disagree, was he a guy who was hustling and got stuck being the poster boy for the drug war,or was he a sadistic looney?
Im leaning towards poster boy, just because Ive noticed, the coke supply didnt diminish an iota after he finally got tagged. It kind of reads,"SEE WE'RE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM" and then another a-hole just fills his place. Doesnt make Escobar any less of an A-hole,just thinking that there were plenty of other A-holes as well.

Well, I don't think there's any doubt that once Escobar is gone, there are any number of people who are willing and able to step up and fill the gap. Towards the end, even his own people had probably had enough of the guy. Escobar's biggest problem probably was he seemed to have no inclination to keep a low profile. He flaunted his wealth and power. Dude even ran for a seat in Columbian politics.

You HAVE to read the book by Brian Burrough! Basically every big name criminal we know of was on the loose at the same time: Dillinger, Pretty Boy Floyd, Machine Gun Kelly, Bonnie and Clyde, the Barker-Karpis Gang (aka Ma Barker's Gang), Baby Facy Nelson.....all of them were out robbing banks and shooting up coppers and G-Men (who at the time were like the fucking Keystone Cops).

In the Movie cocaine cowboys it said that Ochoa from Medillian was the most powerful. However, almost everyone died who was around that trade sooner or later.
