Info on Vernon "Iceman" Paris?

Vernon was one of my favorite up and coming prospects. I checked boxrec to see if he had a fight coming up and it said his last two fights have been called NCs and I also heard he had been stabbed back in May.

Anyone know any more info about this?

If I'm not mistaken, he got stabbed and has fought since. I don't remember the backstory behind the stabbing and he had a fight earlier in the year that was canceled because he'd injured his hand. They were building up a local rivalry between him and Lanardo Tyner but after Tyner got whupped on Friday Night Fights I guess that went away. I had Iceman's promoter's phone number but I misplaced it. I've been meaning to interview him.

OK, I called the Media Relations department in the department of labor and economic growth with the state of Michigan. It's just a matter of time before somebody calls me back.

As a side note, I also applied to be on the boxing commission. That'd be pretty cool if I got that call.

Vernon is in deep shite once again. I really believe he is self destructive. He was once one of my favorite fighters and I thought his potential was unlimited, but he noe imploded three times. His managemen has now given up on him and he is floundering in Florida. I doubt we will ever see him back in the ring. What a pity. He went to Florida with family and they gave up on Vernon also. Last I heard he was in jail awaiting a court date for a domestic violence charge. He was also suspended from boxing for 18 mths I believe because he failed drug test 2 or 3 times. This kid had real potential I remember himsinc ehe like 12 yrs old and training to be a fighter.

Just because I was curious about the whole process I did a little investigating and submitted a FOIA request to the state of Michigan. The guy tested positive for marijuana TWICE. Man, he had so much potential.
