I've always wanted to learn to surf. Unfortunately for most of my life i've been terrified of water. I only really learnt to swim when I was about 15. I always avoided going swimming in rivers and stuff when my friends were going in.. You couldn't pay me $1000 to go on one of those tree swings and jump into water..
I tried bodyboarding a few years back but always felt like I was one tiny mistake away from dieing, so I couldn't really throw myself into it enough to be able to do it properly or really have a good time..
I suppose if I spent more time in water, and had a life jacket on in the ocean (yeah i'd look like a giant poof), then i'd give surfing a shot...

What are some of the best places that you have been surfing??

The time I went Bodyboarding was at a place called Jan Juc which is about 10 minutes from Bells Beach... Bells was really crowded that day, and given I was no doubt going to humiliate myself, I wanted somewhere more quiet.. First thing we saw when we got down there was some old dude fully naked walking along the beach, so I knew I was safe to attempt body boarding without having to be the only thing attracting attention..
