Highly touted and shockingly upset by Reynaldo Lopez. Then he is knocked out again by Antonio Escalante? Glass jaw?

....not sure about his jaw but it at the least does seem suspect. He's been a different fighter ever since he's tried to do more boxing and less brawling.

He was found out to be below the elite level. Good fighter, but missing some the important elements of a champion.

Reynaldo caught him trying to be cute, it was obvious Lopez's power was being felt by him in the first place. Escalante just outclassed him period, Oliver had no chance in that fight. Oliver has amazing handspeed, definately one the quickest in boxing, but that's all he has. At the level he lost at you cannot win by speed alone. He could still be a fringe contender and honestly with a good trainer in his corner he could move back up in his division, but I think his bad habits run too deep and he got to used to just beat his opponents to the punch.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I am weary of jumping the gun on a guys career, may be the case here but he really looked bad last out.Escalante just mopped the floor with him.His legs seemed rigid even at the early stages and he was affected badly with lasting effect when his chin was touched.Kept rising up,heart though.Honestly felt bad for em.
I was rooting for Gary Stark Jr to beat him and I thought he did, but the judges saw it in favor of Oliver.
I was happy to see him get sparked out by Lopez.
Yeah man.. Kid Stark got that fight, and i think thats where mike mikes career went downhill since.. personally i think he lost all his confidence after taking that decision and he hasnt been impressive since..
he couldnt think he had the stark fight cause his corner told him he needed the ko.. and hes not been the same since.. shame cause i grudge a bad decision against him but he was still good and had potential
Immortal Technique
The next Ed Hopson. All speed. Nothing else
He just wasn't that good to begin with? He was pretty fast, so what, he wasn't very skilled-defensive lapses fairly often, chinny, lacking power.
Yes, he does have a bad chin. But his head is sooo huge you would think he would be easier to hit. He's fast but doesn't have the power to make his opponents weary of coming in.
his first lost i thought it was a fluke his second i said was damn
he still good and still one my favorite fighters even though he got that big foreheaad
What we all knew would eventually...He was exposed for what he is...A flashy local fighter that fell flat on his face once he met a guy who did not get caught up in his flash and came just to fight.....
Mike reminds me of a guy from around me named Wayland Willingham....Plenty of marketability but believed he was better then what he was...Felt there was no reason to keep improving because he already knew it all in the ring...The only thing left was a contract to sign and he would own the division....Wayland was starched the same way Mike was....
Problem is just like Wayland Mike does not seem to have the mental make up to overcome his defeats and learn from them....Just too much on the psyche to handle
