Always enjoyed listening to Reg's commentary during a fight. The man knew how to call a fight and always did it in a respectful, accurate way.

Only on Saturday on ITV4 BigFight Review they showed Ali vs Cooper 2 and Reg was the commentator. The man must have covered 1000's of fights over decades.

    He will be sorely missed.

    Rest in Peace, Reg.

Was listening to Dickie Davies from the old world of sport talking about Reg on the radio. He said Reg once lost his wooden leg with his luggage in Thailand when he was in the US. He said that was the furthest his legs had been apart.

I've heard him commentating on a few old fights and he's one of the few commentators that was not irritating to listen to. He was well spoken and real man of boxing.

Anyways, here's an interesting story that I yanked from another forum:

"One story I remember about Reg was about 15 years ago Muhammad Ali was here in the UK for some reason and held a press conference. On arriving he looked into the crowd looking at all the press guys and started to ask "Where is Reggie?". He was informed by one of the other press guys that Reg was in a local hospital.

After the press conference finished Ali went straight to that hospital and found Reg in a hospital bed. Reg opened his eyes to see Muhammad Ali looking down at him. Reg said What are you doing here!?" Ali said "No, what are YOU doing here?"

If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
