Ok im a first time poster on here........now i wasnt awear of this board untill a good friend of mine put me onto it.
Now I know Paul well from another punk forum he used to post alot on and now posts every so often like me.Now when weve had boxing threads on there we have sometimes clashed on our opinions of how a fight has been scored etc etc but I always respected you as a trainer being one myself and a former top amateur boxer but after reading the thread to do with your wifes recent fight and the wanting o kill the oppenent comment(disgracefull) and then watching "kid thunders" video on this thread I had to join out of disguest!
I like you paul but to be honest what you said on your wifes thread and then how KT fought was a disgrace and I dont mean that to attack him....quite honestly how some people on here have attacked and taken the piss out of KT I find a disgrace in itself because anyone that ALONE steps into a ring deserves ALOT of respect and most of the people that are coming with that stuff are just arm chair idiots!!
So because of this I felt I had to join up alone just to help KT (although I love disguss boxing)....quite honestly if I was KT's trainer I wouldnt have him fight for six months because again and I dont mean this as an attack on him because any bad showings by a boxer or serious serious mistakes like of which KT is doing are not his fault but his trainers!
Now as I said if I was KT's trainer I wouldnt have him fight for six months because to be honest....hes not ready to fight infact if he came in to my gym off the street I wouldnt have him even spar yet!
In boxing the basics are the most important things and also not easy to get right you get that right then you have a good platform to work on....when I watched that fight you had a low guard but no real head movement(at least not tidy tight head movement),you should be punching from your chin instead it was coming from your chest....your foot work was all over the place ie if your moving to the right your right foot moves first you were using your leading left foot and crossing your feet making you off balance, your punches were wild and swinging(to be honest you fought like a street fighter not a boxer) and last but not least I only saw you land with one scoring jab....for the first round and a half you didnt throw one jab AT ALL.
The Jab is THE MOST important punch in boxing and should be used by far the most its the only versatile punch in boxing that can be used to attack and defend with as well as being a great point scorer and combination opener and finisher(all combinations should try and finished as well as start on a jab) towards the end of the fight when you did throw a few were well out of range and there was no real intent to land with them.
Again I dont post this to attack to Kid Thunder but more an attack at Paul because he should of fixed these things at the very least(and there are loads more things you could work on) before even thinking of putting you in the ring!
Ben he did fine against McClure, and yes Ive got him using his jab and his cross.
Ben here, you go,he didnt have a trainer before I took him on,so he did 16 fights with ingrained bad habits.
He went the distance with McClure and actually looked like a boxer, not a street thug in there, and in my opinion won the fight pretty handily no matter what the judge who wasnt in his seat for a round and a half says.
I dont have him in my gym I train him remotely, but when I got him he was sauna suiting to make weight and his entire game plan was haymakers, hope and attitude.
Which is not how he fights now
Now you could have contacted me privately, and asked for the backstory, you could have asked me about how boxing operates in the states, you didnt.

First off I have to apologise because my spelling and grammer was terrible in the last post lol....and second to say that although I ripped on you rev in that last post I actually meant to and forgot to put that even though I thought he fought badly and had Allllllllllllooooooooooooootttttttttttttt to work on I actually thought he won the fight out of sheer grit, higher work rate and the fact that he was alot more aggressive,so yeah I thought he should of won the fight!
But Rev to say that he fought like a boxer is unbelievable...he fought like a street fighter plain and simple. Now I understand that he has six kids like you said to me in a private message and that he works at a wal mart so cant afford not to be fighting.....and I understand that coming from someone who struggles constantly with money and finding enough to eat as well as pay the bills and do my bands. But there are basic things that should of been worked on before that fight...how long were you working with him before this fight??
And what do you mean by how boxing operates in the states
You should have seen him before I got him, even he'll admit it looked like a bar room brawl, and there was no way the fight was going 2 let alone 4 rounds.
In the states there are all kinds of low end fights, where they'll just grab anyone on the pro-level. That was Andrew's career before I got him. He's improved even more since the McClure fight,so he'll do better next time.American promoters dont give a rats ass about you,he'd been in 16 Pro fights before anybody even bothered to train him. If I could just get him to have some faith in his uppercut, and not cocking back on his hooks,Id feel better.
I know what he needs to improve on,and Im working on it.

Paul you dont think theres not low end fighting circuits in England.....theres alot and just as much shit in europe let alone England as there is in America...ive experienced it myself!
Just off the top off my head theres matchroom who just use there fighters to pad up other peoples careers!
I would worry about his upper cuts at the moment he need to be throwing the punches hes already using properly plus holding his hands higher, chin down and moving his feet properly!
I do wish him the best of luck though...and Id be interested to see a video of his next fight!
When is his next fight??
Hasnt been booked yet,but it might be sometime soon at the Blue Horizon.
Its a worry of mine because Andrew is comfortable swarming an opponent,to do that,I really need him cutting loose that uppercut more often.
We had this discussion the other night along the lines of "Jesus I wish Id started with you before youd just gotten tossed in the ring 16 times"
He's a good guy,he needs the cash, and it would be so much easier to book him if his record didnt look like a train wreck.
I literally looked at the tape on the Dumas fight, and said to myself,"You know for somebody who hasnt been trained he has decent hand speed, even though he's throwing everything wrong, and you cant keep him down,so thats heart, and you cant teach that" then I talked to him, decided I liked him as a person, and took him on.
Im actually really proud of how much he's grown as both a person and a boxer, and in his understanding of how the buiz works. Andrew has come a long way,we know we still have alot of travel on that path, but its getting there, and progress beats the hell out of quitting,or accepting shit while you try to convince yourself its pudding.
