Do yu wear anything underneath your handwraps?

In training do you wear extra hand protection underneath your handwraps? ; Hand guards, foam, or simply extra long handwraps ?

I use the knuckle guards but im having trouble with the leather they seem to irritate me between the fingers. So im thinking of jus rolling some gauze, foam or extra cotton and placing it on my knuckles underneath my wraps !

I use long mexican style hand wraps. I wrap it so that the hand wraps are folded back and forth over my knuckles instead of going around my palm. This gives me the extra padding without impeding my ability to make a good solid fist.

Ya long mexican wraps only. Quick n easy, good wrist and hand protection so far. No injuries to speak of in 3 years of weekly workouts and many, many spars and fights. I've messed about with professional wrap jobs, but being sorta clueless it didn't work out too good.

A couple pieces of tape can help. With me it's gotten to the point where I don't need to use tape. I just secure the wraps against my leg, a table or the ring and make the folds, then once around the top of the palm, and then in between the fingers.

I bet gauze can be nice, especially if you have a trainer that can show how to do it right. It'd be enough to make you feel like a pro.

Ive got some Winning sponge knuckle guards that I wore when I first started at the gym. Now with better technique and my hands getting used to the punches I dont bother anymore. Many of the pros wear them though or put a big chunk of gauze over their knuckles.

In seriousness, all I use are the Mexican wraps like Chris and YB.

In training if my hands are a little sore I may use a short wrap first and then add thge longer wrap over the "carcassing."

Just mexican wraps... never needed any padding for my knuckles... only problem I've ever had was my wrists and that's because stupidly I didn't use to wear wraps.

Did anybody else think of these when reading this thread?
