    Default RIP Robert Mcnamara

One of the worst Sec Defs we have ever had, but at least he owned up to his mistakes. Hopefully he can find peace in his afterlife.

Lyle, have you read "Best and Brightest" by Halberstram? Gives all the behind the scenes action of Kennedy's and Johnson's administration during the buildup and execution of Vietnam. Anyway the guy was a wiz at statistical analysis but couldn't seem to grasp that defeating an indigenous insurgency couldn't be quantified by numbers. Brilliant man but had no business running our military. I hope that someday Rumsfeld can own up to his mistakes and the utter waste they cost us.

It's about Mcnamara and the Vietnam War. It's very interesting, I saw it years ago but if I remember correctly the whole thing is basically a very candid interview with him.

Kennedy's short time as President was disasterous, not only did he evenutally cap it off by getting shot and leaving LBJ in power, the WORST President ever!

Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missle Crisis, Vietnam....just one horrible event after another
