I was interested in getting a biography on the life of Sugar Ray Robinson and Joe Louis. The problem is that most focus on the struggles of black athletes during this period. While i find this interesting I just want a book on there life. Can anyone recomend me a book?
    Thanks

Ruben Carter's autobiography was good. It has racial overtones for sure, but not as much as you might think. It was just a down and dirty book. He was a bad ass mofu with a badass upbringing in a badass neighborhood, and he also happened to be black, inasmuch as that fact influenced his experience, it gets discussed.

Brian Hughes (UK Trainer and great mate of mine) has written an excellent one on SRR.
