re: Should tall fighters learn to slip punches?
I think that learning to slip punches is valuable for all boxers regardless to weight. Although I think that it'd be better for a taller fighter to keep their opponent at range, mainly parrying/catching the jab and slipping the punch only if they need to.
Bob Foster was a tall boxer that was very good at slipping punches. Arguello at 5'10" and Sandy Saddler, 5'8.5" were tall for their respective weights, but were also very good at slipping a punch. Now there's Paul Williams, who although has an awkward style, he's good at making an opponent miss.

If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
