....hey Dana, Brock Lesnar called, he wants his couth back
Sounds like he's the one running scared from boxing. Two seperate sports, like someone said it's apples and oranges. if he is so confident in his sport then he should accept that another event on the same night should make no difference, Boxing fans will pay for Boxing , MMA fans for MMA.
Should be simple, or does he think some of the MMA fanbase is fairweather fans who would prefer a better card of boxing if there is direct competition.
I like some MMA now and then , and I have posted on here defending it sometimes. However given the choice I will always go for a boxing event first over everything.
Gimme break already Amat, did you have to settle for dirt weed today
Dana White has a big mouth no doubt, but he owns a whole sport and you cant even argue with his success. What do you care if he disparages boxing? Its his only competition ad quite a few fighters have taken a shot at MMA.
None of its relevant and has no bearing on boxing. I will be watching Mayweather/ Marquez.
Can't argue with the success he's had but he does not own a sport or even the UFC, he's just the president and mouth of UFC.
Go to the link below for the owners of the UFC.

well I guess I'll jump on the anti-White bandwagon as well. he's a dick. And he's getting kind of hung up on himself. To bad he can't let his "sport" speak for itself. No, he has to have his own mug front and center all the time, like he's some kind of media star. Very definitely a power tripper.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I think despite the complaints at the start, I reckon most boxing fans (not those who are fans of a single fighter) will be buying this one. It has often remained throughout a mass of fans of a certain fighter from the Phillipines who have said this match-up is terrible & that we should all not buy it for 'the sake of boxing' (anyone thinks I'm chattin shit is either new or has forgotten the April-July period on this site)

speaking of this fight being in the theaters i just found out a theater down here is showing it im def going.
He's just pandering to his flock, riding coat tails. To me its not about 'defending' the fight but recongnozing a carnival barking fool.Lets face it,we hate paying for any one fight...funny how he forgets that boxing has undercards as well....but as far as athletes and lifeblood, its quality over quanity.Boxing has huge problems and will not stay the same, but its not going anywhere.....years from now Dana White will be the answer to some trivia question.
Well, Dana White picked the wrong card on both accounts. Look at the UFC 103 card and then the Mayweather/Marquez card. The boxing card is loaded and the UFC card is mediocre at best. But I choose not to put too much into Dana White speaking. He is just a loud mouth because he has been given a nice amount of power. I like MMA a lot so I will not put it down because of Dana White's mouth once again opened. MMA is nice and so is the UFC. As far as I see the only thing wrong with UFC and MMA is Dana White. Cut him out and we have a great sport which realizes it can co-exist with boxing.
Yup. Just barking is right Spicoli. And I'd much rather watch the quality of fighting on a great card like this then a buncha 1 or maybe 3 round weener wars.
I think people really forget how much skill is involved in the seemingly simple process of throwing and defending punches within the squared circle. Mano a mano. It's more of an art then many realize. It doesn't surprise me when I see someone come along and think switching gloves to 4 oz might make it better, or creating some kinda new marketing technique will improve it, etc. Well the fact is, it won't. It is already an amazing process of pure skill, athleticism, will, near torturous training all woven into an amazing challenge of one opponent against another, in one of the most primal of human nature's motivations, to battle, to conquer.
The fact that it is simplistic in nature is what has held it's appeal for so long, and why it will continue to. Other fads will come and go. Products of cultural trends. Enigmatic people will come and go. Boxing will remain.
I don't generally get too pissed at Dana White with all of his blatherings, but I found this one particularly offensive. And not just for the out and out disrespect he has for the fighters, but for the disrespect he is starting to show for boxing, period. Without it he'd be nothing.
And long after Dana White is gone, and he is little more then an after thought or trivia question, boxing will still be. Of this I am certain.
At the end of the day the two sports are seperate and should be confident enough and strong enough to stand alone and apart without a slanging match from either side.
If Dana wants to take it to the most basic facts it's this. Boxing is Boxing, hasn't changed apart from some rules the basics have always been the same.
MMA - a mishmash of various sports which alone do not stand up, I don't see that many people( in relation to boxing) showing up for a main event of Ju jitsu,Judo,Wrestling (the real stuff not the chair over the head shit)
People like White and Arum need to just concentrate on giving their own fans what they want , a good match up with a decent undercard for an affordable price to the real fans.
Rant over.
You're either defending lies or ignorance. When Dana White talks a bunch of tattooed up guys in Affliction shirts listen (ask Lyle), the internet media hasn't learned to ignore him yet. I don't care what you say it's one thing for a fighter to be polarizing, making a guy in charge of the whole ship polarizing is another thing. He's MMA's Don King or at least he is trying to be.
You mean to tell me this clown who talks as if he knows EVERYTHING about boxing, he's the end all and he's telling people he doesn't know who Marquez is, or that an HBO PPV is one fight?
WTF. Yeah plenty of fighters slack off MMA, Arum did to and he got called out for it as an idiot. I just don't get what redeemable qualities this guy has, and I'm an MMA fan. I just don't get how Dana White consistently acting like an asshole is written off as a shrewd business tactic by his followers.
And he doesn't own the whole sport don't be foolish. He has done a nice job with it and really the best thing he has done is getting MMA sanctioned, moving it forward as a sport. But at this rate he is moving it backwards with all this reckless talk.
