    Default Shawn Porter

I'll say that he's progressing nicely. He's been likened to Berto but I think he's better then Berto was at this stage in his career. He was in there against a clearly outclassed but game guy. He has future world champion written all over him. He's a good Jr. Middle and will add some spice to the division.

    Thoughts?...

the fact that Manny Pacquiao is already using him as a leading sparring partner shows that the kid is strong and has talent

he's not tall for a jr. mw. if he can make 147 much better for his career.

is it just me or does shawn porter remind me of another jeff lacy! i think he should go down to welterweight cause he is definitely too short to compete for a title at this weight. when he goes up the ladder, a good boxer with power will KO him.

He fought at 165 in the amateurs and didn't get KO'd. He even won a National Golden Gloves tournament. Height alone isn't going to beat this kid. Porter has been the shorter fighter all his amateur and pro career. He knows how to get inside and has really nice combinations. He is very quick, sharp, and powerful. On the inside he'll be a nightmare for the taller fighters.

I agree with this entire post... And how does he look like Lacy? Porter has a hell of a lot more natural ability then lacy... After his muscular body there is no similarity. Lacy looked great beating up the Pembertons of the world but Porter is being groomed to be a world champion.... Not to to take an IBF belt through a back door.
