    Default Roger Federer

Ok, so I know this is the boxing board, but there is something I want to raise.

I want Roger Federer to have to face random blood testing for the rest of his career. That bloke doesn't ever pant. He NEVER looks so much as out of breath.

Anybody know what kind of drug testing the tennis authorities have in place? How does this compare to boxing?

Because, Federer impresses me MORE as an athlete than Pac does - so how come no one thinks he's on gear??

Ha - yeah, for the Olympics...

Be interesting to know what the protocols are. I'm surprises his opponents don't insist on it

    When has federer........

    Publicly refused a drug test?

Put on a large amount of pure muscle in a short period of time?

Is Federer now hitting the ball harder and moving around the court faster?

The main point most seem to be missing in this whole pac drugs debackle is that Pac has publicly refused a random blood test.

To me it's not about nessacarily about performance, it's about the fact that he refuses testing.

If Federer Or any other athlete in any other sport refused testing I'd be eyeing them witht the same suspision I have with Pacquiao.

Out of curiosity I Googled, so here you go.

Players are tested for banned substances in accordance with the guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Code (from WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency).

New provisions in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) program that kicked in 2009 require top players to provide testers with their exact location for one hour every day of the year. Previously, they only had to do so during the six-week out-of-competition period in November and December.

The so-called "whereabouts" provision applies to the top 50 men's and women's singles players and the top 10 men's and women's doubles players. Tennis' anti-doping program is run by the International Tennis Federation, which adheres to the WADA anti-doping code.

If a player misses three drug-testing visits in an 18-month period, he or she is subject to sanctions, suspensions or even a lifetime ban.

I was going to post a link to a site saying exactly this.

There were better examples to pick than Tennis which has some of the best anti-doping procedures in sport presently. The players don't like it, but at least unlike boxing you can be pretty confident the top players are clean.

He never looks as tired as his opponent because he makes them run all over the court chasing the ball.

I was more interested in the method - blood or urine?

And no, I don't think he's on HGH, but the guy was playing points against Murray where he was running his arse off - not so much as a pant. EPO was my first instinct.

And my tongue is firmly in my cheek, but I'm just saying - this guy is so dominant, and yet his opponents don't refuse to play him unless he has randomized blood testing. So, with regards to WADA's code... blood testing?? Or only urine?

It was more of a funny thread saying a) how fucking good is Roger Federer, b) how messed up is boxing, and c) how much fucking cooler would boxing be if there was a tournament once every year (two years, four years) where all the best guys HAD to fight each other?? I think four time a year is obviously too much - but seriously, a boxing 'Gand Slam'??

Have whatever kind of protocol WADA wants - if you're not in it, your not relevant.
